That's just awful, wow. He's was a troubled man and I knew he had health issues these last few years, he was incredible actor and comedic talent. RIP.

Also, very poignant link, Prof_Pretorius. I'm probably going to "hoist one" as well and go on a R.W. video binge, tonight. Only seems fitting!

Thanks. Everyone on my faceBook is posting the same damn thing over and over ....

From the memories of him that are being posted on the internet, I wonder if he was bipolar, which used to be called "manic depression". It seemed that he could get so wound up that he'd go on "comedic" rants instead of pitching his latest movie to a reporter, for example. Then, in private, he got really depressed and would drink. That sure sounds like bipolar. His problem is that he built his whole career on it, so medication was out of the question. So he suffered. I guess he couldn't take it anymore.

If I remember right NAMI has a pamphlet about bipolar and his name was on the list of famous BP people.

He was in a lot of movies I watched as a kid. I never expected this. I watched a review on Truth or Square over the weekend and saw the scenes he was in. Something was bugging me after that. I should pay more attention what's on my mind more often. It could be an intuition telling me whether or not something won't be around much longer.
His final performances have yet to be released this year. One of them is a third entry into the Night At the Museum films and the other is A Friggin' Christmas Miracle.

Depression SUCKS big time. RIP to a wonderful talent. :(

Robin Williams' death made me discover who I am: An upbeat, happy person who despite the fact that I've gone through my share of crap in my life, in the end, I will always to put a smile each and every day. Because life is just too short to be gloomy all the time.

When I read the news, I heard him whisper, "Carpe Diem" in my ear.
Not literally, but you know what I mean.

Was shocked to hear the news as well; as I write this, I'm listening to Marc Maron's WTF podcast and he could barely hold back his emotions in the intro to his convo with Robin.

For me, he will always be identified with his oldest role as Mork from Ork. Wherever that comic wit came from also doubtlessly was home to terrible pain.

paraphrasing Seneca, there is no greatness sans a tincture of madness. I hope his family finds earthly relief of their loss. it seems the greatest comedians have a kernel of sadness in them somewhere.
