No. This is simply acknowledging the gender isn't a m/f binary.

It is political correctness, and I'm sorry but I just don't have time for it all.

Everyone has time to be respectful of others. It doesn't take any more energy or time to be respectful once you've learned how. Then you'll have fewer social problems - because people won't think you're rude or a bigot.

I don't get the misunderstanding with people thinking Mr. and Mrs. Potatohead aren't a thing at all anymore. It took a total of five seconds for me to Google "Mr. Potatohead" and find an image with their new box art showing the names "Mrs." and "Mr."

The only thing changing is the logo.

Well luckily 99% of everyone I know aren't politically correct either, but yes if I am around a sensitive politically correct individual then I just be respectful.

For real.

I was exposed early to Popeye the Sailor Man. So I never had trouble eating my spinach ...so I could fight to the finish!

But if mom and dad had bought me Mr Potato Head I ... never woulda touched any vegetable again in my life.

Why shouldn't you just simply be respectful of all people around you all the time? :?

I AM. I'm just talking in the context of the non-binary topic.

It's funny how being autistic means you get lectured by other autistics to be 100% nice all the time to everyone but yet every day I see posts here saying how autistic people get treated on a daily basis by NTs, being called weird, freak, stupid, etc etc.

Soooo, someone calls some autistic people weird/freak or whatever, and that's your justification for not respecting non-binary people? :?

Even if the box says “Mr.”, isn’t Potato Head already gender neutral?

The "Mr" gives the particular character a particular gender. And he does have a mustache.

I dont have a problem with it.

But he has a wife, and prolly both a daughter and son. So both genders are represented in the Potato Head family.

When I played with Potato Head, it always ended up quite non-binary - and it was long before "non-binary gender" was a thing here.
Come on, it's just a potato head to play with.

Who said I don't respect non-binary people? I may have my own opinion but I don't disrespect them to their face.

At least I'm not brainwashed by all this gender political correctness.

"Political correctness" is a lot about politeness.

It SHOULD be about politeness.

Sometimes, though, it crosses lines.

I almost lost a job once because I mistakenly called a “she” a “he.” It was an honest mistake. Her library card said “Richard,” and she looked like a man. Turns out she was a transwoman who hadn’t had the surgery yet.

She was so offended that she reported me to my boss.

Yes, it should be about politeness. Preferably, both ways.
The person you describe seems like having problems with ego. I mean, being misgendered is like having your name misspelled - it can be annoying and, I suppose, sometimes triggering - but a genuine mistake is a genuine mistake, not "microagression".

Because the volume of offensive language has become as thick as the Bible.

If we're creating a world where everyone has the inalienable right to not be offened by any speech...I dont even have go on. That thought is depressing enough.

That's why I believe genuine respect is more valuable.
