CBC: Russia's ambassador to Turkey shot dead mid-speech in Ankara

Not sure what this means politically, but I figure if Russia and Turkey are fighting that can't be good.

I really fear what is going to happen if Trump decides to team up with Putin and carpet-bomb Syria. I will not be able to stay in Turkey with my wife if crazies start targeting Americans.

When Archduke Franz Ferdinand was shot, Europe was politically unstable. If it wasn't the assassination of the Archduke it would have been some other event that touched off the powder keg.

CNN showed the footage of that man being shot to death this morning, and then the fanatic screaming his message afterward. I told my wife that Lincoln's assassination, and Boothe shouting, "Sic Semper Tyrannis!" must have seemed very much like that.

I imagine Putin is quite sane, but he is the head of a system that has its own logic. And Erdogan.....any moment now he's going to start telling people his hands are quite large, thank you. Erdogan reminds me of George W. Bush in his policies, and Trump in his fragile ego.
