No wonder why SJWs are the laughing stock of humanity.

What did I just read?! It wasn't very clear at all. There was an argument about a snake.

What did J and K do that they thought deserved some payment? What services did they provide?

The SJWs got into a whine fest simply because word that a baby python was let loose got around because it interrupted their echo chamber dialogue.

J and K (the article redacted the names) don't seem to provide any services. They just seem to want to paid because they feel entitled to it.

Stuff like this make me feel old. Goodness knows what kind nonsense we'd have been discussing as teenagers if we'd had social media.

I think a lot of sjw's are teenagers and young adults trying out new ideas. Every generation does it. This is the first generation that has the misfortune of broadcasting it on social media.

I graduated this year and they really pushed that social justice stuff, almost fell for it too.

Even the Bible Belt, as screwed up as it is already, is starting to become infected by the SJW virus.

"If you're not a socialist by age 20, you have no heart; if you're still one by age 30, you have no brains." There's a reason why this saying has endured for generations.

I support freedom of speech equally for everybody, so I have no problem with these young people trying out any new ideas they please. I resist the urge to label them ("SJWs", "snowflakes," et al) or to silence them just because I don't agree with them. What bugs me (and, I suspect, a great many of us) is that many of those people have no such reservations, and are promoting a brand of liberalism that Van Jones accurately described as "not just useless...but obnoxious and dangerous."

I understand the desire to bring light to issues that you care about. I have issues that I care about as well. However, you can't just demand money from random people. Maybe the people who performed hate crimes might have to do something to make amends, but why do strangers have to pay?

Quote:
Students at Sarah Lawrence College, a posh, private liberal arts college in New York consistently ranked one of the most expensive colleges in the nation

That explains everything really.

Quote:
It became fierce fodder for students the second time it was posted as they debated on Facebook a student’s release of her pet snake on campus. The student has claimed she was only given an hour by campus officials to get rid of the baby python, which she had purchased for therapeutic reasons. She told peers that, in a panic, she let it loose into the wilds of Sarah Lawrence near a student dorm by the North Lawn.

Therapeutic reasons?! A snake?!

Quote:
But then some students expressed anger that their peers appeared more upset about a python on the loose, as well as another controversy regarding a popular tree on campus slated for removal, than racism and alleged hate crimes at the school, which costs $65,550 annually in tuition and other fees.

Yes, "alleged" hate crimes. No evidence of such "crimes" having actually been committed, but it still ends up costing the students $65,550 annually in fees. I would sue these feral brats for this.

Quote:
One poster added: “The issue that people talked abt the snake+ tree extensively but completely ignored the hate crimes against black+ Muslim students earlier this year…there’s a v clear issue in priorities here and it needs to be addressed?? No one’s saying that everyone shd never talk abt the snake its just ridiculous that people can do that but can’t be bothered to say a word abt the racism very present on campus.”

Maybe they didn't discuss these alleged "hate crimes" because, in reality, everyone with an ounce of sense and a functioning brain between their ears (i.e. anyone not an SJW) knew that they had not really occurred.

Quote:
This tenuous suggestion steadily gained traction despite the fact that Sarah Lawrence is known as a progressive, tolerant institution.

Yes, they tolerate all kinds of BS.

Quote:
Finally, the same poster insisted: “please pay J—– and K—- for their labor, preferably over 30$. The community is watching you and holding you accountable.”

Big Brother is watching you. Orwell's novel wasn't meant to be a guide to how we should run our societies, but was meant as a warning. These idiots probably have 1984 on their bookshelves next to their (unread) copy of The Communist Manifesto.

This story is hilarious! :D And the comments! It's like the comments section of "YouTube". These idiots are supposed to be the "leaders of tomorrow", the "elites" - God help us all, we're doomed if they ever take charge. I wouldn't trust these morons to look after my pet parrot (if I had one).

Yes, isn't this something that gangsters do? Isn't extortion and the demand for protection money considered to be crimes? 8O

Yes, I'm ashamed to admit that when I was 20 I was more than just a socialist, but a Mao-quoting, fanatical Bolshevik who believed Stalin was too soft with people who opposed him.

I was still like this when I was 30.

And 40.

I'm no longer an atheist, so I can't call myself a Marxist, but I really do miss the Soviet Union. Can we bring it back please? I don't consider SJW's to be "Left" at all - they're just a bunch of spoiled rich kids who have had everything their way, and now can't stand the harshness of the real world so they remain in university, surrounded by people who think alike and never challenge their fantasies. Eventually they will have to leave their parent's home (when they are perhaps 45 years of age), and they will then just fall to pieces.

I've got some "labor" for them and it involves chains.

what's the point in asking for money for interesting things? Demand (!) money for telling me things I'm not interested in!

Of course. Silly me. I'm completely missing the point.
