1. It's Tucker Carlson from Fox News. He's roughly as trustworthy as Baron von Münchhausen, only less funny.
2. He is referring to the State of California, not the US as a whole.
3. Based on the latest estimate from December 2020, the population of California is - *very slowly* - increasing:

State of California wrote:
California’s population increased by 21,200 between July 1, 2019 and July 1, 2020, to total 39.78 million, according to official population estimates released today by the Department of Finance. This represents a growth rate of 0.05 percent, down from 0.23 percent for the prior 12 months – another record low state population growth rate since 1900. Since the April 2010 census, California's population has grown at an annualized rate of 0.64 percent. Reasons for the recent decline in population growth include fewer births, increased deaths associated with an aging population and the COVID-19 pandemic, lower international migration, and higher domestic out-migration. Natural increase—births minus deaths—added 156,600 people to the state over the period with 436,700 births and 280,100 deaths. Births were down from 451,200 in the year ending July 1, 2019, while deaths were up from 267,300 in the preceding year. Some of the above average deaths are due to the COVID-19 pandemic. There were more than 12,800 more deaths in 2019-2020 compared to the same period of 2018-19. While deaths increased due to an aging population, this is much higher than the 3-year average death increase of 4,800 persons per year from 2017 to 2020.

Fox news is not real news lol. He is not a real news man. Don't listen to Fox News. Only listen to it for entertainment. Tucker Carlson has been kicked off other news stations before. If you want to know if many Americans are actually leaving the country, do your homework. Find other sources that cover the story if Americans are leaving the country, if you don't see any other source, don't believe this.

Weary from political strife and a pandemic, some Americans are fleeing the country

Americans are leaving the country or seeking foreign visas in record numbers, according to immigration lawyers and expatriate organizations, during an oppressive year of political violence, racial strife and an uncontrolled pandemic that has kept families locked in their homes for months — with no clear end in sight.

This was from last month:

https://www.insider.com/americans-who-l ... cy-2020-12

I googled, "Americans are fleeing the country." This is how I find sources. Googles peoples claims and if nothing pops up, no reliable source. Forums, blogs, Fox News, social media are not sources unless they actually provide a link to a source lol to back up where they are getting their claim from lol.

I don't really know what you are talking about.

I found that link first, but I wanted one that wasn't biased towards the left.

You posted from The Washington Post, I am not able to read it because of the stupid subscription thing.

I linked to the Insider. I have no idea what the article reads in The Washington Post.

For some reason, I have full access to the article even though I haven't subscribed.
Maybe because I am in Australia?
No idea.

If anyone had been fleeing the country, the person who ultimately must shoulder the blame is Trump, who had set the wildfire ablaze.

I don't understand what is so bias about minorities being harassed more under Trump in office. I have heard these stories online about people moving to America only to be harassed by racists and some being harassed more under Trump in office. It's not like I am going to pretend these minorities are exaggerating. It was like when no one would take me seriously when I was being treated different and I was dealing with meanness on a daily basis and all the time and kids never moved on and everyone acted like this was all normal. It was nothing like what these minorities faced. I just dealt with ableism and ableism is not the same as racism.

Try opening it in an incognito window, that usually works for me.

The YouTube video is from Tucker Carlson from Fox News--a right-wing propagandist from an increasingly propagandist 'news' network. They like to use people 'fleeing' California and other blue states to try and dismiss left of center policies. People are leaving California because of natural disasters and woeful mismanagement--thing which are not a result of following left politics to the letter. Or they are Republican californians who decry the political dominance of the Democrats in that state. California Republicans would likely be much more viable if they didn't have to toe the line of the over-centralized, right-wing platform mandated by the Republican national leadership and right-wing news outlets.

The WaPo article cited the main reasons for Americans leaving to be racial injustice, nationalist terrorism, and a lack of a social safety net--all problems that are downplayed by Republicans. I'd be tempted to move to Canada too if it meant my children wouldn't have to worry about being murdered for being gay or being trapped in hopeless poverty because social security is 'un-American'. Elements on the right are calling for another freaking civil war for gods sake.

The way I see it, if CNN and Fox agree on anything, then it must be true ... mostly.  Same for Al Jazeera and the Time of Israel -- two opposing viewpoints that say the same thing may validate what they are both saying.

However, check your facts with Arirang, the BBC, NHL, NPR, and even Der Spiegel.

Cult News, Politifact, and Snopes are also useful for verifying stories.

Well Ben Shapiro left California because of too much leftism he said. He just didn't like their policies and the homeless problem so he left and he blamed it on the left and the democrats. People were celebrating in their comments of his departure. Now I am hearing people saying on Facebook "this is not an airport" when someone announces their departure of a group.

I doubt very much that there is a vast exodus occurring from the United States.

There are many people for whom the United States would be a relative paradise (even today!)

Personally due to lack of any direct law enforcement , even when events are obvious , would cause me to consider
Leaving the US . Various civil mechanisms are bias towards big business . Inspite of the ill effects on the general population . And maybe only recently that the government is at least making a impression of considering the
The general health situations of the populace . IMHO

Canada doesn't exactly embrace Americans wanting to migrate there. It's very difficult to become anything other than a resident alien there. I wouldn't be able to become a Canadian citizen unless I married a Canadian.

Americans aren't exactly swarming to move to Mexico....
