I wouldn’t put every Donald Trump supporter in the “lunatic” category.....but Trump’s actions in the month leading to Biden’s inauguration do not put him in good stead—to say the least.

It is pretty obvious that Trump experienced great difficulty relinquishing power.

Sorry, but do you have a link to the news story? Your link is just to right-wing opinion commentators taking whatever they wanted to take out of context to spin conspiracy theories. No actual proof was given. And I am surprised you actually take these people seriously. The editing job by the guy in the middle to take the the clip he referenced out of context was just too silly and obvious.

Based upon my watching the video (from the cited link), I believe that the theoretical plan was regarding those who engage(d) in terrorism on American soil. That is dramatically different from drone strikes against 74 Million Americans. Further, the issue cited seemed to surround the insurrection activities on 01/06/2021, along with any affiliated or by-product insurrection (terrorist) activities.

I joined this website to get away from the political nonsense. I deleted my Facebook account because of the vitriol of political nonsense.

Further, a 'political talking head' simply gets payment and/or notoriety for espousing that which they've been paid to espouse. I see no reason to trust even 1% of the American politicians. Many people have financially profited off of creating division within America. I believe it best to refrain from giving them the benefit of any outcome for which they've paid.

For my fellow Aspies, ADHD'ers, and others: I send both greetings and well-wishes. I do not care about political party, beliefs about COVID-19, sexual orientation, diagnoses, or anything else - I do care that we have a chance to become enlightened, despite any of the NT or other categories for which people might choose to lump us. We are already a minority (likely less than 2% of the population). Why would we choose to further sub-divide ourselves, devolving into an even lower percentage grouping? Seriously?

Some people wish to divide us: I choose to pass on that 'opportunity'. I am happy to digitally interact with ALL members of WrongPlanet.

Given Trump's notorious inability to distance himself from conspiracy theorists, coupled with his continual allegations of electoral fraud in recent months (so far with no supporting evidence), I am not in the least surprised. The only real question is whether the distinction is really being made solely by Democrats, or by everyone who isn't on the political far right.

Trump continually spouts nonsense, he's also willing to fan the flames for more extreme talking heads when he should be damping them down. The problem there is, once a voter accepts the principle that BS is somehow automatically more correct than anything "mainstream", it's very hard for them to distinguish between the various BS streams in terms of danger or ridiculousness. 50/50, possible, possible-but-unlikely, almost entirely unlikely, most definitely paranoid and utterly tinfoil hat all merge into one great sea of "non-mainstream so it MUST be true". And Trump has been a champion of that, he's very keen on undermining the credibility of everyone but himself with gossip, speculation and other forms of fact-free 'shade'.

The difficulty for Republicans will be separating the genuine political concerns of most Trump supporters back out from the hysteria that's been generated by Trump himself and the more extreme political and religious commentators who've been orbiting around him. It's by no means clear how they're going to manage that.

Let's see here:

trump lied more than 30,000 times during his presidency.
trump supporters either believe or condone his lies.
qanon is a bunch of lies, many of them being about trump himself - saying he's some sort of saviour blah blah.

It's not really so much of a stretch to suggest that if at this point you're still on board to support a treasonous lying ex-president that incited a violent insurrection that got Americans killed that you may just Also support this other crazy crap like Q.

There are a lot of more accurate pejoratives I could use than lunatics in the instance of qanon sympathizers. Quite frankly if you're interfering with real world knowledge of law enforcement around pedophilia IDGAF about offending you.

To be fair, not every Trump supporter is a lunatic, and not every lunatic is a Trump supporter. But when a Trump supporter is a lunatic, and a lunatic is a Trump supporter, you've got a perfect storm of lunacy.
