Emergence of a Deadly Coronavirus
Trump has announced a press conference at 3 p.m. and it is anticipated that he will declare a national emergency as concerns over the outbreak wreak havoc and continue to disrupt daily American life.
The Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act allows the White House to mobilize the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and direct federal aid to states hit by disasters and health crises.

National emergency = martial law
What exactly does martial law mean that we should be expecting?

The statement that "face mask doesn't help to protect the wearer" is probably going down the history as one of the biggest lies in 21st century.
Isn't it funny that East Asia, where nearly everyone wears a mask in public places nowadays, is precisely the place where containment has been achieved? It doesn't matter whether the country is big or small, it doesn't matter whether the initial number of cases is astronomical or minuscule, it doesn't matter whether the country is rich or poor, it doesn't matter whether the weather is cold or hot, in East Asia, basically all countries are achieving containment.
Just because Europeans have this bad habit of looking down on Asians and on anyone wearing a mask, doesn't mean that their wishful thinking is true. Europeans now pay the price of their wishful thinking in blood.
A mask works wonderfully in keeping people away from you. Tell me, does that help or not? A mask keeps your hands away from touching your face. Tell me, does that help or not? The presence of masks immediate raises public's psychological awareness and preparedness. Tell me, does that help or not?
Look at all these people preaching for other people not to touch their faces. Give me a break, what a joke! Wear a mask and you won't be touching your own face. Simple solution. Yet, Westerners don't have enough brain to understand it, so, they keep dying like flies.

Actually medical experts are saying this in Israel too. They say the mask prevents spreading germs but not receiving them. I don't get it either. I mean the simple ones from pharmacies not the astronaut type ones.

I will inject a bit of humor. What is currently going across the local social media right now is a prediction:
There will be a major uptick in the amount of young babies being born nine months from now. This generation will be known in the future as the "Coronials".

A very unique plan. As Dr. Paul Thompson wrote, "This is the very best paper on the virus I have ever seen."

Indeed they will.

indeed.
thinking and typing at the same time here
If you’re wearing a mask and someone who isn’t coughs within spray radius of you droplets of coughed, potentially infectious, Oral fluid will cover you like an imperceptible fine dew: could it enter through tear ducts? Sweat pores? Ear canals?
Whereas if you’re carrying it and wearing a mask, your cough only goes on you.

Yes, I believe through the eyes. Thanks K.
Having freak storm/mini hurricane over here what with Corona it's like reliving the plagues of Egypt

Medicated creams and lotions absorb through the skin. I have no idea about Corona and I've never heard it can go through the skin, but at this point I think they have no idea how it's transmitting so readily.

Ow! Take care then!
Where applicable I’m 73.97% sure air conditioning is helping the spread along...

"Researchers used a nebulizer tool for the study to place samples of the brand new virus into the air. The procedure imitated what might appear if an infected person coughed or made the virus airborne some different way.
Researchers discovered that virus strain could be detected up to three hours later in the air, as much as 4 hours on copper, as much as 24 hours on cardboard and up to two to a few days on plastic and stainless steel."

I don't disagree with you that having everyone wear a mask, at least in crowded public places, is an excellent idea. Indeed that was part of what I proposed here.
The only question is whether it works primarily by (#1) protecting the wearer from everyone else or (#2) protecting everyone else from the wearer. The main issue with #1, according to what I've read, is that most people (other than health care workers) don't know how to wear a mask properly so that it actually forms a seal around their mouth and nose. On the other hand, regarding #2, even if some virus-laden air does leak out due to not-quite-proper wearing of the mask, at least it won't be projected nearly as far; hence the spread of the virus will at least be substantially slowed down if not halted.
Agreed that too many Europeans (and Americans!) have a very bad habit of looking down on Asians. But that's not the main reason for the current discouragement of wearing masks. The main reason for the latter is that there's a shortage of masks, so they need to be reserved for health care workers until production ramps up enough that everyone else can wear them too.
Of course it helps -- if there are enough masks to go around, which currently there aren't.

I haven't heard any specific warnings for pregnant women when they name the vulnerable populations. Of course a fever and virus is problematic for any pregnancy, but I was wondering what the risk is for maternal transmission to unborn babies?

I don't hate Chinese people, I just hate China. That's where all this s**t originated from and now the whole f*****g world is suffering. I hear rumours that this virus was let out deliberately to cut down on the population, and if that's true then it's a stupid idea and also it's terrorism.
