So Glenn Beck's analysis is actually realistic in stating that the fanatics are hoping and planning on gaining control of these countries and have a pretty good chance of seizing power (depending on what the military in said countries do).

Incorrect. The Muslim Brotherhood is actually a very strongly non-violent group which is not linked to any terrorist activity. Further, they are not as powerful and influential as Beck would have you believe. They don't even intend to run a candidate in Egypt's first elections.

I wish more people knew what The Muslim Brotherhood actually is. Dialogue with them is possible and what they want. The same cannot be said for many other Islamic organizations

Riiiggghhttt...... If you believe that I have some land on Jupiter to sell you.

"Elements of the Muslim Brotherhood here and overseas have supported terrorism," Muller said in response to a question at a hearing on "Worldwide Threats" by the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. Muller, who refrained to give any further information in an open session, said that the United States has no relationship with Muslim Brotherhood.

Top US intelligence officials including the CIA Director Leon Panetta and Director of National Intelligence James Clapper testified before the hearing chaired by Rep. Mime Rogers (R-MI).

Noting that the Muslim Brotherhood is an umbrella term for a variety of movements, Clapper said that in Egypt it is a largely secular and very heterogeneous group which has eschewed violence and has decried al Qaeda as a "perversion of Islam."

Oh found Beck's blog and notes he's posted:

It is a pretty big read, so those with no attention span probably will have problems.

I know, I just can't help but be amused when I hear anyone talk about gas giants in a similar fashion to a rocky planet. Did I mention space is one of my main special interests?

Back to topic, it looks like Beck actually has research to back up what he is saying.

I'm sure he does. But he's also a master performer. The guy has a knack of taking actual facts and combining them into something that seems correct, but when you look at it closer, he's skipping important details. In short, he's a master of making 2+2 look like 5.

I think humor is actually his way of coping with things. Again ducky, you are making the same mistake that I pointed out someone else was making earlier, they were immediately dismissing what Glenn Beck said, just because his name is Glenn Beck.

Sorry if I haven't responded in a couple days, but my computer was crippled by a nasty virus, and I had to have that taken care of.
Now to business -
Actually, a few years back when Beck was working for CNN, my perception of him was that he was a conservative who actually made some sense. Back then, he was critical of our current health care system - especially after he had to undergo hemorrhoid surgery - and even took on that prick Michael Savage over the existence of Asperger's and autism.
But since moving to Fox, Beck has chosen to become the redneck messiah, ranting about alleged conspiracies based on half truths and and paranoid fantasy. And why? For the sake of all mighty ratings and the money that comes with it - that, and whoring himself for his gold advertisers.

@ Kraichgauer

He actually still does make sense and has been right quite a bit lately (which is more alarming than him being crazy). Just cause someone sounds crazy, doesn't mean they are crazy.

Actually in most cases, if you sound crazy, you probably are. And if you aren't nuts, but act like you are, well, that's just self-defeating.

He doesn't behave like he's nuts he behaves like someone whom has bad social skills and a weird sense of humor.

No. Beck would not have become the media celebrity if he did have such bad social skills. And I seriously don't see anything particularly funny about what h says. And if he is just trying to be funny, well there are plenty of nuts out there who hang on his every word - so obviously, they don't get the joke. And I'm pretty certain he actually intends his listeners and viewers to believe every word out of his mouth.
