Well, in that case, no it's not.

What would be the fascist version? What would be the difference? This isn't a trick question. My mind works pretty good I think when it comes to nuts and bolts. But when things start becoming abstract and or philosophical whatever, I start running into difficulty conceptualizing.

A Fascist would impose a lousy health care system upon people, would "forget" to pay the doctors involved in this lousy health care system, thereby denying them a living, and would not allow decent doctors to practice because they would be outside that "system."

We need some sort of national health care system to deal with catastrophic events and life-threatening illnesses. We are behind the 8-ball in this; most "first world" countries have this already.

But we also need a decent private system as well, so people can bypass the national system if they so desire.

The bummer is:

Obamacare works well for some people.

Really sucks for others.

We have to do better than Obamacare.

Universal health care and a basic income should become reality. If the elites want to live like fat cats, they shouldn't do it while the sick starve on the street.

This is something I believe in as well, in its basic form.

From what I understand, it only works for those with exceptionally low incomes, who qualify for subsidies and of course those with high incomes aren't affected. Everyone else in the middle is screwed. It's something that was totally imposed by and literally in the name of the leader. So, quite honestly I am not seeing how this does not fit into the definition of fascism I've been given so far.

Frankly, this discussion would not be taking place if Congress would have expanded Medicare for Every Man, Woman and Child back in 1965. Congress passed this as a sympathy vote for JFK, who was assainated 2 years before. It is ironic that Medicare even passed, since Kennedy, being one of the 1%-ers, was against it from the beginning. We can thank LBJ for ramrodding this through Congress.

Fascism has nothing to do with whether you have health care of any kind or not, or with the quality of it. It has to do with authoritarian government fueled by fanatical nationalism. Those deemed to be outside of the nation, or unworthy of it, face being shunned or even persecuted. On one hand, the government tells business what to make, and how to make it, but just the same, all business is privately owned and becomes enriched by this relationship.
That's my simple definition.

There are seven "unfaithful" electors this election. Four of the seven were from states where Hillary won. These four are democrats who would not cast a vote for Hillary. Most of the faithless votes came from the State of Washington.
