He is right in that oft purpose of using "climate change denier" is to equate the person disputing the scientific consensus with holocaust deniers thus delegitimizing anything they have to say. So in that sense, it is those weaponizing the phrase "climate change denier" that are doing a similar thing as those calling political opponents "Nazis"

The 3% of the scientific community who are professional climate denialists (many of which are funded by corporations and their lobbyists like
Koch Industries,
Exxon/Mobil, and
the American Petroleum Institute) are actively contributing to
the Anthropocene Mass Extinction Event, of which anthropogenic climate change is a major driver.
To conflate people who actually believe in science with Nazis who provoked a war which killed 60 million people isn't merely hyperbolic, it's idiotic in the extreme.
What is being attempted is conflating those who don’t believe in the scentific consensus that human caused global warming is and will happen with those that do not believe the Nazi holocaust did happen. “Climate change denier” is used to demonize people because it is effective way to do so, because of the unsaid but wanted emotional association with “holocaust denier”. Interesting we call people “anti-vaxx” or “vaccine skeptic” words that describe a persons point of view not “vaccine safety denier” which describe a person.
