Well livestream up to the point where they get gunned down.

About a half century ago when I was young and in better physical shape, I went on a hike similar to the one proposed. In one day I walked through the desert in 100 degree heat a distance of 25 miles. Even though I had some hiking experience, I still ran out of water part way through the hike and I experienced heat stoke.

When I experienced heat stroke, my body went into a state of automatic shutdown. So the first thing I remember was that I completely stopped sweating. My mouth dried up and my tongue felt like a shriveled prune. Then my cheeks on my face began to glow a cherry red. Now I didn't have a mirror handy to actually see my cheeks but that is the way they felt. I could feel them glow. My thinking became a little cloudy, one track mindish.

So anyone foolish enough to try and repeat this experience, when you start to feel these effects, realize you are in a state of heat stroke and death is standing behind you overlooking your shoulders.

As someone raised in the Nevada desert I offer this piece of advice to everyone. Stay out of it during the summer. It's like with Death Valley, it got that name because so many people died crossing it in the middle of summer. Likewise stay away from pleces like Donner Pass in the middle of winter.

Civilians storming a military base should be avoided year round.

It is public property anyway though. I own just as much of Groom lake as most of you do.

Here's a thought: What if everyone who made it in there is just in witness protection now?

No, it is government property.

A national park is public property, but you can still be arrested for unlawful trespass in one.

The creator of a Facebook page calling for a public invasion of Area 51, the top-secret Air Force facility in Nevada, has finally spoken publicly about his joke getting out of hand.

California resident Matty Roberts, who created the Facebook page “Storm Area 51, They Can’t Stop All of Us,” revealed his identity Wednesday to KLAS-TV of Las Vegas.

The page calls for a public invasion of the secret Air Force-run facility near Groom Lake, Nev., on Sept. 20 at 3 a.m. The facility has been the subject of alien conspiracy theories for decades.

As signatories for the page climbed higher, Roberts said he grew worried the FBI would pay him a visit.

“The FBI is going to show up at my house and it got a little spooky from there,” he said.

Technically September 30 is middle of Autumn

Good thing we're going September 20 during the summer then.

I was replying to what jimmy m was saying about his personal experience. Autumn here begins September 23.

This is a valid point. Generally the definition of summer encompasses the months of June, July, and August in the northern hemisphere. But this definition varies for many parts of the world and even in the United States.

Reckoning by cultural festivals, the summer season in the United States is traditionally regarded as beginning on Memorial Day weekend (the last Weekend in May) and ending on Labor Day (the first Monday in September), more closely in line with the meteorological definition for the parts of the country that have four-season weather.

So technically this is an Autumn event.

I think there has been a drift toward more extreme winters and summers in both the northern and southern hemisphere so I accept there may be what we call (down here in Australia) an "Indian summer" where autumn remains warm longer than usual.

Our christmas is usually 100F and Santa usually cools off on the beach with a coca cola.

In Nevada summer weather can stretch out into November. That is pleasant type summer weather as opposed to blast furnace type summer weather. The extreme heat usually starts subsiding in September iirc.
