Good luck with defending the indefensible, you guys will need it.

I am assuming you think your interpretation is the reasonable one,
And facts be damned.

Review the video, again, with your one good eye.
Well, your only eye. :cyclopsani: :P

Who told you about my childhood eye injury? :o

Sorry,
I disagree.

He asked a question.
It wasn't a suggestion, with the belief he was in a position to implement, himself.
It was a suggestion that *others*, who are more informed, could investigate the possibility.

It is a distinction that only some, like myself, with a humungous intellect, could discern,
But discern it I have. 8)

Once again, it wasn't an edict.

For example,
He didn't say:
"Hey, you there,
In the front,
Yes, you, you lefty journalist, you.
Come up here.
We are going to strap you down and try something."

It is like when I ask Ezras: "Could Fnord be any more wrong?"
It is a god darn question,
For crying out loud! :P

How silly it would be if I said:
I suggest that Fnord is more wronger than the average bear.
When we all know that no bear could ever reach that level of "wrongness". 8)

It was *rhetorical*.
*Not* to be taken *literally*.
It was "brainstorming".
I used to do that all the time when I was working. 8)

Oi Vey.

Why would Trump deign to ask if taking poison would cure COVID19, somehow?

Anybody with any common sense wouldn’t even think of doing something like drinking Clorox.

Here's how deductive reasoning works

Trump was already a wealthy, unapologetic self-centred, corrupt, misogynistic, undiplomatic, racist madman....no secrets there

46.1% of the US population thought he would be the best candidate to run the world's largest and most powerful country

in 2020 Trump says And I then I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in one minute, and is there a way you can do something like that by injection inside, or almost a cleaning. Because you see it gets in the lungs, and it does a tremendous number on the lungs. So it'd be interesting to check that.

You would think most rationale people should be running a mile....and yet his approval rating is better than ever...

Conclusion: People like a leader who is fallible. RIP political correctness....

people are tired of political correctness and want a leader who feels the same way they do about the economy going down the crapper. the same will go for governors.

To be clear, I'm no Trump fan, who would be... spreading the smelliness
It's quite clear he meant it as a brainstorming question, he is narcissist enough to believe that it's ok for him to do that publically.
He has made many other mistakes that should be focussed on instead of this tabloid level drivel.
Or is it this level that sways minds most effectively?

Unfortunately, tabloid material “sways minds most effectively” on both sides of the pond.

Think: The National Enquirer and The Daily Mail.

Why would Trump try to prompt his own supporters to commit suicide? He has an election to win

And that's the real issue right there: he shouldn't discuss such nonsense publically, not so much because it makes him look like an ignorant clown, but because plenty of people are stupid enough to try something like this. It's irresponsible.

Could someone please link the actual video where Trump says this?

I've read the text but can't find a link for the comment.

Also, it's likely yummy to drink the Lysol with Kool-Aid.

People with narcissistic tendencies dont generally care about the impact of their actions on others though.
How have we become so unthinking, that sections of society will actually try something like this. That people need to be warned, by news stories not to injest a toxic substance even though disinfectants have warnings printed on them. The mind boggles.

The man has speech writers and advisors, doesn't he?

I'm sure he didn't mean what he said literally, but I can't believe he could ad lib like such a dufus.
