I'm curious, what personal hardship did you suffer under his presidency? That's something I hardly ever hear about from Americans.

Can't speak for the person you addressed this to, but I have a list, and these are just off the top of my head:

- My taxes went up
- My husband's employer was struck a death blow by the import duties (Losing a job in my husband's field at his age is a death blow; even with a new job and me working more, our income was cut in half)
- My LGBTQ relatives have faced more discrimination

The one that didn't hit us personally, but hit some 20million if I have the numbers right:

- Families lost their health insurance

Now that has substance. Compared to what I usually hear.

my uncivil service pension was delayed almost a fkkking YEAR! in a process only supposed to take a couple of months. my congressmen told me he was stiff-armed by trumpy's people he installed in OMB, who were likely told to slow application processing way down or limited by personnel cuts.

Well, they hate Biden, sure. But do they have any real, sane reason for their hatred, other than believing the crap that he stole the election from Trump, or some other loony reason?

Indeed, but when you think about it, it's kind of an admission that the folks who think those stickers are clever aren't very well-informed or interested in understanding all of the facts in context before reaching their conclusions. It's not about facts or reason, it's about their emotions and a hurr durr libs bad, reactionaries good understanding of politics.

Biden has made a career of serving the oligarchs, while being a racist, tone-deaf SOB. Meanwhile, someone actually serving ordinary people is also running for president and it looks like he might sweep all the primaries. The media's attempt to push Kamala Harris on us was unsuccessful, so they try Pete Buttigieg, with more success, but it still looks like the guy who serves the people will sweep the primaries, so it's Biden's turn to be presented to us as our savior, to stop the guy who is actually fighting for us. So, a used-to-be civil rights leader, who is now a comfy shill of the insurance lobby, says Joe's the guy for his state, and the media uses this to pretend that Joe, who hasn't won a single state yet, has the thing locked up. And it works. We get Joe, instead of the guy actually fighting for citizens.

Does that make Joe worse than Trump? Not even close.

But it does provide fuel for the propaganda to continue, fooling us into thinking WE chose Joe, and that he and the other elite are our only hope against tyranny. And our own fellow citizens will pick up the propaganda and tell us we are loony if we think otherwise.

Trump fetishizes strongmen.
Putin would rather an incompetent unknown be president than a war hawk.

They don't have to be working together, but for giggles, let's consider the reasons they might.

If you're Putin, in what way does it even help to have the idiot Trump even involved in your evil plan to make him president? Say you're going to spend $100K influencing an election that will cost the candidates $2B and involve $4B in free airtime. Let's say that's even a thing. That you can throw a $6B election with $100K, spending only half of it before the election, and spending most of it in New York and California, states that aren't even contested. Let's say that's even a good and realistic strategy.

How does Trump figure in? What do you ask him to do for you?

The damage Biden has done to our country is astounding, yet there are still people who tout Democrats as the better option. They're living in a,dream world.

If you vote for Democrats and Republicans you have no right to complain.

why all the hate? I just think they both suck.

Biden was very influential in creating the so called Patriot Act. I went looking for a source on this, but found an interesting controversy.

Is this fact checker fail?

Quote:
No, the federal government isn’t using the Patriot Act to treat parents like domestic terrorists

https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2 ... act-treat/

compare with this:

Quote:
General Merrick Garland issued a memorandum to the director of the FBI ordering him to “convene meetings … in each federal judicial district” to discuss “strategies for addressing threats.” But unlike the NSBA, Garland has not had the decency to withdraw his memorandum and apologize for this disgraceful effort to weaponize the FBI to intimidate parents who show up at school board meetings to protest the direction of their children’s education.

Instead, Garland has tried to whitewash his actions, telling Congress last week that he did not use the words “domestic terrorism” or “Patriot Act” in his memorandum. That was intentionally misleading. In a statement accompanying the memorandum’s release, the Justice Department announced it intended to create “a task force, consisting of representatives from the department’s … National Security Division,” among others, to “determine how federal enforcement tools can be used to prosecute these crimes.” According to the Justice Department website, the “National Security Division (NSD) was created in March 2006 by the USA PATRIOT Reauthorization and Improvement Act” to “protect the United States from threats to our national security.” So Garland was doing exactly what the NSBA asked — ordering the use of the Patriot Act to investigate parents who come to school board meetings to exercise their First Amendment rights.

Trump IS one of those oligarchs. And it was his class that he was looking out for while playing "man of the people."
I don't know if it's fair to call Biden a racist. He's just a step or two... or three behind more progressive younger folk. It's just a matter of Biden coming from a different era.

biden is a tough man from a tougher era, and it is often tough for tough people to grok non-tough people.

I doubt many could keep going after suffering the loss the President has in his life. One tough man, indeed!

The man of the people I was talking about is Bernie Sanders. I thought that was clear from my sarcasm and discussion of Democratic politics.

Here's a sample of what he was up against.
