I used to consider myself a liberal, but now I think I'm starting to understand why some people despise liberals. They can be bullies, hypocrits, and just as prejudice as Trump supporters but they will never admit it.

They accuse Trump of being corrupt when some of their own candidates are just as crooked.

They accuse FOX news of fake news when CNN does fake news all the time too.

They accuse all Trump suppprters and Republicans of being racist and yet they're always going on about how evil and stupid white people are, ESPECIALLY the ones in rural areas (and then denying and deflecting it when confronted about it like any true bigot)

They accuse all MAGAs of being violent and yet there has been reported cases of people being physically assaulted by Trump opposers just for wearing their MAGA hats in public.

Liberals feel that they have the right to be harshly critical towards conservatives calling them fascist nazis and they cannot take any kind of criticism of their own behavior. They can't accept the fact that they might be just as wrong about some issues as conservatives are.

Tribalism is a zero sum game...like nuclear warfare

Beneficii articulated something I couldn't quite put in words in another thread!

white privilege = thinking social and cultural factors don't apply to them - every else is a foreigner (even in their own country)

I actually think the Chinese think in this fashion as well as they are part of the "middle kingdom" thus everyone else is a foreigner except them

I know historically it was more a matter of 'this is the core of the world, all other kings are only kings because we recognize them as such'

I think the Imperial model is that all other kings/kingdoms/people are tributary - exist at the behest of the emperor/Lord of Lords
Mongols
Egyptians
Persians
Romans
Europeans

Every empire thought the same way about the rest of the known world

wh***y is the current empire

What sort of evidence would you like to see put forth?

Translation: Liberals call a spade a spade and right-wing snowflakes throw a temper tantrum and feel because the truth offends them it mustn't be spoken.

That post just backed up TW1ZTY's statement. "right-wing" obviously translates as nazi fascist.

Indeed it does.

When folks on the left point to actual white nationalists and others who promote policies similar to historical fascism who are being mainstreamed into the more general right, white nationalists and their sympathizers (and the useful idiots who fall for it) become hysterical and outraged that actual neo-nazis are being referred to as nazis or fascists.

If you and TW1ZTY sympathize with that, it's problematic.
If you and him are merely being useful idiots for that, you still don't have a valid complaint but are exactly what I'm describing.

So you make a statement and then I'm supposed to back it up with evidence?

Oh so "right-wing" is not equivalent to right wing, but rather separates neo-nazis from the non-nazi right wing. Is that a correct interpretation of the lingo?

I can't speak for everyone who uses the term, but in my usage I try to be pretty strict about focusing on two main (and somewhat overlapping) blocs. Those who embrace white nationalism or white supremacism and those who embrace authoritarian populist nationalism. I'd be hesitant to label someone like Ron Paul 'right-wing' even though his base includes a lot more WN/WS/NC** types because he consistently espouses libertarian positions; I wouldn't refer to the majority of GOP politicians whom I am familiar with as such, although Steve King makes a fair example of someone I would define that way. There's a lot more people who are enablers of those people, and in this specific usage, they were included under the general 'right-wing snowflakes', even if some of them wouldn't typically be included.

I'd assume it's general usage (beyond me) probably mirrors the word pinko, where some people will include anyone to the left of Attila the Hun and other people basically mean progressives, social dems, socialists and the radical left, but wouldn't mean centrist Democrats.

I think this is the crucial point in the post-Trump era. People who are GOP supporters enable the toxic environment which gave rise to a president who was taking strategic advice from a neo-Nazi (Steve Bannon). Trump can pretend all he wants that he's really a fair guy but he is not stupid; he knows his language is a dog-whistle to the elements in the right who vocally expressed their desire to embrace him (which they curiously seem excited by the language used by Tulsi Gabbard who is masquerading as a democrat).

Then there's the elephant in the room which is the post-apartheid USA which is still coming to grips with it's highly racialised past. White GOP supporters wear blinkers when the facts are pointed out but are happy to continue the apartheid traditions where most folk still live in racially segregated neighbourhoods across the US.

The above facts are why when their dear leader uses racially charged language they happily shrug their shoulders and attack the long dead images Hillary or Obama, like some type of conversational red herring.
