Logically, if children in Germany can manage to do so, there isn't any reason for children outside Germany not to be able to learn either, if they had friends\family to teach them - My daughter has a friend through the R.C.H. here in Melbourne with a similar medical condition to hers who was speaking German at that age through his family members having taught him.

German was spoken at home because my parents were immigrants.
German was my first language, hence, why my English is a bit iffy.

By whom?

Other four year olds?

How is it that you were so learned that you could speak German at four years of age?

And how is it that your four year old peers were so learned that they knew about and had even a crude understanding of the two world wars and the Holocaust at four years of age?

I was 4 going onto 5.
I was at the public school.
I was psychologically abused for being half German, by the teacher.

And your native tongue was German. That sucks. Being bullied by a teacher is probably worse than being bullied by other kids I would imagine.

Generally, children begin to babble from around the age of six months and say their first words between ten and 15 months (most start speaking at about 12 months). They then begin to pick up increasing numbers of words and start to combine them into simple sentences after around 18 months.

When the authorities do the bullying it serves to validate and encourage anyone else who might do it.

I totally separate “German” from “Nazi.” The German people I have met are far away from the Nazi stereotypes. We have to teach young people about the Truth of the Holocaust. And make sure to emphasize that the vast majority of the German people wouldn’t have embraced the Nazi genocidal ideology. It should be remembered that a German woman gave the Beatle haircut to the Beatles.

that reminds me of how i said to a foreigner who thought all of us amuuuricans were trumpoleenies, and i said that just like in nazi germany there were the true believers who thought h*tl*r could do no wrong, and the rest who were basically just stuck in the $#!+ with no place to go or no practical way to counteract the evil around them without themselves becoming victimized by those psychopaths in power then.

Not all Germans were Nazis, and not all Nazis were German.

America has done some pretty horrible things, in its history, also.

^I learned that from Hogan's Heroes. It sounded like Sgt. Schultz said "Yavult, Herr Commandant."

All the Nazi characters were played by Jews on that show.

One of my favorite shows as a kid.

Just looked up Warner Klemperer (who played Col.Klink)in Wiki. I read somewhere years ago that he was a "refugee from the Holocaust". Not quite true but sorta. He was a German Jew. His family immigrated to Los Angelos from Germany, but didnt exactly flee Germany. But it was good time to leave. The year was 1933, when Hitler came to power.

His dad was Otto Klemperer, who became a famous American symphony conductor (whom I had heard of). Werner's first cousin was Viktor Klemperer (hadnt heard of him). Who was a linguistics professor in Germany. Viktor stayed in the old country and became best know as a diarist. He chronicled life in Germany under the Kaiser, under the Weimar Republic, under the Nazi Regime, AND life in postwar Communist East Germany. Sounds like an interesting chronical!

Viktor narrowly avoided the death camps and being incinerated in the bombing of Dresden, and became a member of the Communist party in East Germany. And he was Col. Klink's first cousin! You learn sumpin every day. :o

Both of John Banner's parents were Jewish. I don't know how "observant" he was.

Member of neo-Nazi ‘Atomwaffen Division’ jailed for intimidation campaign in Seattle

Quote:
A member of the neo-Nazi group “Atomwaffen Division” was jailed for his part in a campaign to intimidate journalists, activists and minorities.

Johnny Roman Garza was sentenced to 16 months in federal prison for targeting people in Washington and other states.

Authorities say that members of the right-wing group threatened at least one Seattle television journalist and two members of the Anti-Defamation League.

Posters containing swastikas, skulls and threats such a “We know where you live” were sent to some of their homes.

Prosecutors say Garza, 21, went to the home of a Jewish journalist and put a poster on their bedroom window that featured a man in a skull mask holding a Molotov cocktail in front of a burning home.

The poster included the journalist’s name and home address.

Garza also went to a Phoenix apartment complex where a member of the Arizona Association of Black Journalists lived but could not find anywhere to leave a poster.

The group’s name “Atomwaffen” is German for “Atomic weapon.”

In sentencing Garza US District Judge John Coughenour said that prison was necessary “given the severity of this conduct and the horrible impact it had on people that are important in our society.”

The judge said he believed Garza was genuinely remorseful and had factored in his age and “turbulent childhood” in his decision to depart from sentencing guidelines that recommended 33 months.

Prosecutors accepted that Garza was not the leader of the plot but had “enthusiastically embraced it, researching addresses for journalists and those who oppose hate in our communities.”

They have also charged Brandon Shea, 24, of Redmond, Washington; Kaleb Cole, 24, of Montgomery, Texas; and Taylor Ashley Parker-Dipeppe, 21, of Spring Hill, Florida.
