Is half the U.S. population going to be infected when all is said and done?

Now, let's see why there are still people repeating the same lie. They repeat the same lie, because they are not independent thinkers. There is not one single population-statistics based research study on the ineffectiveness of masks. Yet, the "masks are ineffective" lie gets propagated around the world.

"Masks are ineffective against COVID-19" will probably go down the history as the biggest lie in the 21st century.

All those who got infected in this bus were not wearing masks.

It is almost an airborne virus; think logically: it is expanding way fast; it can’t be just via coughs and surface touching.

Look at the first 30 seconds of this video:

Wait....how did she create multiple creases in the paper towel in just one flick??

So we guys should start buying pads....

Most of these craft videos are staged tho.

The Chinese point of view is making more sense in this:

The American surgeon who is calling people to buy masks because is causing shortage is stupid: he should instead call his gov to produce more antiviral masks; it is not a complicated task...it’s not like manufacturing jet planes.

Boo I'll answer your question about why I'm optimistic in this thread so we don't take Mona's dating thread off topic.

It's this graph about flattening the curve that caught my interest. Apparently the virus has already peaked in China and tailing off. In the Uk they're trying to slow off that peak so hospitals aren't inundated all at once. It will last longer in this country, but should peak in summer then tail off. Graph is near the end of the article.

Yeah, but I'm definitely not dating during the pandemic, which is fine because that was my 2020 plan anyway. Annoyingly my plan was to travel and enjoy myself, but that's scuppered now. I'll be at home painting, sketching and sewing. Maybe I'll head up to the Highlands of Scotland and stay in an Airbnb in the middle of nowhere instead of flying abroad.

I live in an area with a high Chinese population and it's normal to see people by walking round wearing masks anyway, even before the pandemic. I think they wear them to minimise breathing in traffic fumes.

The good thing about a mask, as well, is that it stops you touching your nose and mouth with unclean hands.

*Gosh, did I ever think I'd be using the phrase "before the pandemic". It's like like being in a sci-fi movie.

Apparently, China has also bungled up its response, yet any criticism results in someone "disappearing".

Travel ban extended to the UK.

I heard domestic travel is not far from being restricted beyond DoD employees.

They certainly are using public transportation here in NYC.

I heard one of the drivers in the company say that he had 200 passengers less than average on his bus, and this was a normal week day.

I'm just so worried about what this will mean and if it will bankrupt the bus companies. Not only everyone will lose their jobs but we will lose all of our bus services as well.

I can't afford to lose my job, as my partner is out of work at the moment and we are having enough trouble paying the bills as it is but with my wages we are just managing to scrape by.

It is really worrying me. I can't deal with it. If I lost my job my world would just be shattered. I hate being unemployed, and looking for a new job is very stressful for me, because I have Asperger's and anxiety.
