I can’t stand having things touching my face and it completely freaks me out, I think if I had to leave the house and wear a mask for an extended period I’d wind up melting down... are there any types of masks that don’t really rub against your face? If that makes any sense anyway... :?

I have the same issue.

Our prime minister is at least being sensible on this issue
Wearing masks 'not necessary'

Sam Clench
Scott Morrison said National Cabinet had accepted the advice of the medical expert panel that "it is not recommended" that masks are "necessary to be worn".
"It's important to note that the wearing of such a mask does not protect you from an infection, but if you are displaying respiratory symptoms then it is, at best, a measure that prevents you transferring it to others," said the Prime Minister.
"It's not about protecting you from infection. But that's why, when people were leaving airports and things of that nature, they were wearing them to prevent the transmission."
Chief medical officer Brendan Murphy backed him up.
"We have very low case numbers in Australia, and these masks often aren't of particularly good quality, and they often provide a false sense of security and make people not practice the social distancing measures that we want," Professor Murphy said."So we are not recommending the general community wear masks. We have been saying that consistently through the pandemic."

Nah. I see construction workers wearing this and it is mandatory at (some?) hospitals now apparently. My sister has to wear the face visor AND mask and she told them (there is a hotline they can call for questions about it) it fogs up her glasses and thet said just tape the mask to your face so air cannot escape.

Then my sister called to say even so because of the face visor the glasses still fog up. The woman considered then suggested, tape your glasses to your face too :nerdy:

I have to wear one at work, as of last week. I work in a lab and the big boss of the national company that I work for has issued that face masks be worn while at work until further notice. OMG. I'm having serious issues with this. I hate stuff on my face. This is driving me crazy and no one there understands. I can hardly wait any longer for this to be over! Face masks suck! They are hot and suffocating and feel rough and aaaarrrrrggghhhh!! !! !

if you wear an N95 mask correctly it will have a 98% chance of stopping the virus entering your nose or mouth
it is a complete lie saying it doesn't protect you otherwise why are doctors wearing them

Masks are primarily being discussed as a way of protecting others not protecting you. It might protect you because you are less likely to touch an entry point. Masks might protect you if you catch a severe case and need a non overwhelmed hospital.

If a country does all the right other things without masks it should have “low” number of infections. If they also use masks correctly they have a better chance of low or lower rates of infections then if they don’t use masks. There are often other factors involved. Australia might have low numbers because it is summertime there of most viruses do not do well in hot humid environments.

Since so much about COVID-19 is unknown all that is left is flawed correlation connections.

Nah I don’t even care what it looks like at this point, I’m always wearing my clothes for comfort rather than looks because I get so overwhelmed by touching and certain clothes textures and such. I will 100% wear this and be super happy about it 8)

N95 masks are harder to find than hen's teeth, most available stock is siphoned to hospitals where they are needed not to hypochondriacs.

I accept this...the issue is for those at risk and those working in high risk environs need access to the N95 masks. But people at risk for health reasons are already hold up at home so it's kind of redundant.

And yes we have just entered the flu season but there has been mass vaccination as our Commonwealth Serum Labs have released extra stocks of flu vaccines, My daughter has been inoculated for the first time. We will ride through the winter and expect things to be back to normal.

Yeah, I pretty much figured that wearing masks as protection from the coronavirus doesn't even do jack-squat.
