Georgia spa killings likely 'targeted attack driven by personal grievance': Source briefed on probe

Quote:
Authorities investigating the eight homicides at Atlanta-area spas have determined that the killings were likely a "targeted attack driven by personal grievance," according to a source briefed on the probe.

Detectives and analysts are still trying to piece together suspect Robert Long's motive and say that the work is both complicated and critical in order to understand what happened, how it played out and why.

Investigators familiar with mass-casualty incidents believe it is likely the spa killings mark yet another case where the motivators "don’t fit into neat buckets." In other words, investigators now believe there were multiple motivators that led both to the attack and the targets selected.

There is no concrete evidence supporting the idea that the locations and victims were targeted because of their ethnicity, but investigators are actively trying to determine what, if anything, the suspect might have said, written or thought about Asians or Asian women, in particular.

Detectives believe the locations were certainly the intended targets and are now trying to figure out if the women were specifically targeted, if the suspect had had any direct interactions with them and what, if anything, had transpired previously.

It doesn't matter at this point. The "woke" militia and their preconceptions of guilt and the motive based on skin color, gender, and religious beliefs are all that matter. The media have been feeding us the same fairytale now for days. According to the fairytale, this was a hate crime committed by a white supremacist evangelical man who purposely chose his victims because of their race and gender.

The real facts don't matter. Most people already believe the fairytale and won't be swayed.

This is not a fairytale.  It happened.  Deal with it.

Every Asian language I could recognize on Google Translate, plus English.  I may have missed a few.

Exactly. Unfortunately nobody cares at this point about understanding the tragedy that happened. The woke masses already believe the fairytale because it furthers their own hateful worldview.

Sadly most will never know the truth and justice will never be served. The victims deserve so much more. It's incredibly sad.

Those who would deny the murders of 6 Asian women as hate crimes would also deny the fact that the murders of 6 million Jews during WWII were also hate crimes, each and every one.

So what exactly makes it a hate crime? By definition a hate crime is a crime against another that is motivated by a person’s bias against a specific group of people. Is there any evidence whatsoever that is the case here?

To me any murder is horrible and must be motivated by some sort of hate but a true "hate crime" has a much different and very specific, very serious meaning.

There's nothing in the killer's profile to indicate this was a hate crime. However the fact he's killed 8 Asian women in the midst of an anti-Asian wave sweeping through the western world doesn't bode well for him.

What do you exactly mean by "truth" and "justice" in this context?

With zero evidence whatsoever, this has been presented to all as a hate crime committed by a racist, religious man who purposely chose his victims because of their race and gender.

That fabricated story as presented by the media with zero evidence has so taken hold that the "truth" will never be known by most. That truth isn't even known at this point though we are starting to get some understanding that the true motive is complicated and driven by personal grievances and maybe affected by mental illness and addiction (as you already pointed out).

The justice the victims deserve is that the world know about them and the truth of how they died and that this criminal receive a proper sentence. Justice isn't using their deaths to concoct a fairytale to smear other people because of their skin color and religious beliefs purposely fomenting hateful division and further violence. Sadly that's exactly what is happening.

Even though I get labelled leftist and woke I have to agree with this. So far zero evidence this was a hate crime based on race. The killer admits he used the services of the girls he killed so if he was a racist wouldn't he have been seeking blonde hookers rather than asian girls for sex?.

He murdered 8 people and deserves to die. How is anything going to bode well for him?

Do you think if we make a deep psychoanalisys of the murderer and it turned out he wasn't racist but mentally ill, then Asian American communities can rest assured they're safe?

Sorry....I was in NT mode trying to be ironic...it ain't going to bode well....500 years in jail Vs 800 years...either way he's jail bait
