Jacob Chansley followed a classic response. All Bravado until he was arrested then he broke down and blamed Trump.

There is something weird about why he still claims to still "love" Trump (despite blaming him for his actions). I know of many students who lost their parent's life savings from the collapse of Trump University express their deep love/admiration for Trump.

Reminds me of the middle ages when a king or Lord i'll treated their peasants but the peasants still expressed their love/loyalty to their master.

So neither of us knows what he was thinking.

I'm just stating my opinion. Take it as you will.

Trump is a cult figurehead.

The reason why he is so good (not necessarily 'correct') - is because he has tapped into salient issues that are concerning a sizeable part of the electorate and which were previously dismissed by mainstream media.

He's like the idiot savant of politics. He does one thing really well in a very narrow & focussed manner - and everybody loves it.

Everybody not shot at by his laser beam of genius just looks at him thinking "who is this turd representing the United States?"

Except normally cults have a following of a few hundred or thousand at most. Not 75 million.

It is true that a cult of such a magnitude would be unlikely.

But Hitler had a large following, too.

I have no personal stake in this conversation, by the way. I am based in the UK.

Living colour called that the "Cult of personality"
Trump is/was a populist leader who draws on the dark side of human nature

The one who theorized that all internet arguments ultimately end in Nazi comparisons.

I read lots of stuff academically, mostly journal articles.

But I'm not a big book reader & I am very ignorant of a lot of topics.

The information out there that exists is like a universe & an individual is like a grain of sand.

Anyone who thinks they have anything figured out really hasn't. The best you can do really is learn what you enjoy or are good at naturally.

First, let me say I like what you have said in recent posts.
We seem to be in sympathy on some/many things. :thumright:

"Godwin" was alluding to "Godwin's Law".
Quote:
Godwin's law, short for Godwin's law (or rule) of Nazi analogies,[1][2] is an Internet adage asserting that as an online discussion grows longer (regardless of topic or scope), the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Adolf Hitler approaches 1.[2][3]

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Godwin%27s_law

Godwin's Law is a running joke, on this website.
I wasn't being serious.
I was joking, in addition, to see if you knew what I was referring to.

I did not know.

Also, the Nazi comparison is really old. I haven't been called that online in years, ha. Seems very '2015'.
