And I think I provided a perfectly good alternative that wouldn't have taken that much thought to come up with, and that I am convinced no one would have complained about.

The thread name has been changed and OP accepted it.
Hopefully, that solves this issue.

I'll be sure to come to you for the right title before posting anymore threads. Are we finally finished now regarding this? Or are you still having too much fun?

I appreciate that you worked with the mods to change the title. Sorry for the commotion; my original comment was to point the issue out to readers more than to rag on you. Although I did feel the need to challenge your statements that the concern was more about you than the actual title. For me, it was always just about the title, and I understand better now why you didn't see it as a problem.

I didn't see the problem being in proportion to the endless harping.

No they are. Every conference I've attended name tags include names and titles.

Name tags won't make a difference with the teacher in question. His objection is based on his religious beliefs.

The original title implied that the teacher was jailed merely because he refused to use a “preferred” pronoun for a student.

When instead the teacher was jailed for refusing to stop teaching because he refused to use a preferred pronoun for a student.

And refused call the student by a new name (that probably wasn't legally changed).

Which was that he couldn't teach his class because he refused to use a preferred pronoun for a student.

No matter how much denial there is, the two go hand in hand. They are inextricably linked together.

People get suspended and fired for not adhering to their company's conduct guidelines all the time.
If any of them insisted on defying their suspension, the story would go the same.

Do you really think this was somehow different?
