I'm ashamed to say that I thought immediately to come back to this site to see if everyone was saying he was ASD, though I agree generally that it is a mis-applied stereotype. "socially clueless does not equal sociopath"

awh poor guy, someone should have raally contacted him online before all of this happened and tried to set him up with a girl. it's unfortunate how society is a breeding competition and the meek can be rejected so much that psychotic feelings start to brew...

RIP George, i hope you have better luck with girls in the next life.

For the record, he wasn't autistic but he seems the same kind of person that hangs on this forum with a diagnosis of aspergers... then again anybody in this planet qualifies for a diagnosis of aspergers these days, so it's not really relevant.

No. There's no evidence, in fact the contrary (!)
Psychopathology does NOT equate to Autistic Spectrum Disorders at all. Further, the neuro-anatomical features even give evidence that ASD is not psychopath/sociopath - that coupled with behavior aspects that define these symptomatic traits.

In sum, as per DSM-IV TR (other sources too), those with Antisocial, Asocial, or Psychpath/Sociopathic disorders are exclusive of ASD. Here's why: Signifying traits of those Personality Disorders (listed above) include social manipulation (which implies - to know the motivation and emotion of others, regardless of not having the depth!), forward thinking (notoriously lacking in ASD individuals), risk taking and impulsiveness (in fact, ASD individuals tend to be conscientious, but can make dumb 'mistakes' through just not knowing).

Sure, most Autists are loners, but we're not purposely hurtful or callous, just by definition. Just reading posts by WP inhabitants, you'll 'see' our striving, hurt at being bullied/rejected, misunderstood - this is contrary to those in the Personality Disorders (ie: Antisocial, Psychopaths, etc). Not to be revealing, but even just recently another really sweet Aspie - his 'best friend,' his dog, just died. He expreses deep pain, real love, stating, 'he held her paw...' This is so common amongst Aspies, then the hurt of not understanding why he lost his best friend.
A 'Ted Bundy' or equivalent, wouldn't give a care!

Further, our neurology does NOT indicate this:

http://www.reuters.com/article/scienceN ... ews&rpc=76

ASD (that's us) amygdala is 'hyper anxiety' and super-sensitive. Far from the uncaring personna of an Antisocial/Asocial being or a killer.

This article (nothing 'new' here) shows how brains of Psychopaths (& related Personality Disorders) actually look. The Autistic brain is not this. I guess the confusion lies in that Aspies/Auties can be loners, may not 'fit in' and find friendship hard. But big difference! The stats give that ASD individuals do not have a criminal neuropathy - nowhere is Ted Bundy indicated as an Aspie! In fact, he virtually could not be - his personality was extremely persuasive, cunning, manipulative, attracts the girls (albeit on a very superficial level). Oftentimes Serial Killers can have a charming 'used car salesman' type personality. Aspies have basically the opposite problem!

Like Faramir wrote "Socially clueless does not equal sociopath."

Guy has Uncle Rico's Syndrome, not Asperger's.

That is, "I once was great but I haven't fallen yet. I can still get those pretty birds."

It's possible he did have AS but I highly doubt that this is what led him to do what he did. Having AS doesnt make you immune from mental health problems. It's more likely he had a psychosis or something like that. Schizophrenics (not all of them I hasten to add) sometimes behave in a slightly AS way or may be loners.

Well I feel not a jot of pity for the vile thing who shot up a ladies gym class. Rather than "rest in peace" I wish that he "rots in perdition". He was a monster who "died in a state of mortal sin". These terms might seem rather dated but they sum up the way I feel about this irksome slug's last day on earth.

I think he was not a "real man", there are some crimes which "real men" do not commit.

If I had to choose how I would spend my last day on earth, I would choose to do something enjoyable and good. I would also choose to do at least one thing which might make people look back on me and think what a good fellow woodpecker was.

I know it is fashionable to call people who do bad stuff sick minded, sometimes it is used as an insult. I will not be doing so, I think that the man was sane and just plain evil. Oh it might be so un-PC to say this but I think it is true. Some people do the most horrible of things becuase they are horrible people.

I went for years without having a date, I for years I longed for female company but I did not do bad stuff becuase I could not get a date / gf / woman / sex.

Diagnosed under the DSM5 rules with autism spectrum disorder, under DSM4 psychologist said would have been AS (299.80) but I suspect that I am somewhere between 299.80 and 299.00 (Autism) under DSM4.

Aspies can and do get mad and do have meltdowns. However, even if an aspie got screwed over by a particular girl and got mad enough to hurt her, it would be just her and not a class full of nameless women. If there is a shortage of single women, the solution is not killing them because that makes the shortage even worse. I don't think an aspie would make that mistake.

There are schizoid personality type disorders that can, on the surface, mimic aspergers symptoms. He probably has something like that.

There is not mention of AS. He doesn't sound AS at all...This just worries me that you say this.

He was not a poor guy and women don't exist for men to have sex with, he was a delusional misogynist who felt women should sexually satisfy him meaning date him even if they didn't want to or didn't like him he had absurd standards of how he should be treated ,I hope if there is an afterlife he suffers greatly, and doesn't get to ever hurt anyone again. I'm sorry anyone who thinks they are a nice guy and somehow they deserve a women just because they exist has a problem .

i don't know the background of this guy so i'm not sure how absurdly high his standards were...but the problem it seems to me is that males are brought up to think "get a woman or you're a complete loser" in this harsh and competitive society...this can have incredibly negative consequences on one's ego and psyche, especially when others around you are fairing alot better in finding a mate..."why aren't i good enough?" "why do women keep rejecting me?" "why is everyone else doing so much better?" over time, such isolation can send one mad, i've been there myself, not quite as bad, but i was very very bitter for a long time. it's really hard being anything but an alpha male in this society.

this is why, whilst not condoning his actions in any way, i feel some amount of empathy/sympathy for this tortured soul...it's a shame he couldn't have gotten help before this whole thing happened.

before i sound like a nutcase, i also have empathy for the victims, who were enjoying a nice gym class before this whole terrifying experience happened, i can imagine that really shaking you up...and the families of the dead who must have felt horrible/destroyed etc.

From what I've seen of his video blogs ect, he was the type that blamed everyone for his trouble but himself. The kind of guy that kills his parents because they didn't love him the right way, or a girlfriend if her brithcontrol fails or a boss if he doesn't get his raise. You see the type on the news daily the only thing that sets this man apart from those others is killed women he didn't know because they were the kind of women men like to look at.
