And now a third part...

The High Price of Social Network Scams

(Part III of a series.)

Social Networks such as Facebook, Twitter and MySpace are great hunting grounds for scam artists. With so many people to choose from all in one central location, success is simply a numbers game to them.

This must be my lucky week. I've just had an email saying I've been given $1000 to spend at an online gambling site. Can't wait! :D

Wow, I received a letter saying I won the Spanish lottery! I didn't even enter, but apparently all I have to do is pay a £100 fee to receive my winnings!

I'm so lucky, I've been winning the lottery in many places. And many Nigerians want to give me cash. With all that cash, I can buy more lottery tickets, I never knew about and become rich in a short space of time...

Now - if I can just find my receipts for my lottery tickets

I remember one time my brother had a scammer on a messenger and asked if they could put some cash into the account. I asked what details were needed and immediately began to ask questions.
Full name, date account opened, address, etc. Need I say more ;)

Here is the next segment...

The Price of Due Diligence

Due Diligence isn't just for individuals who are thinking of donating to a cause, organization or individual. Due Diligence is something that organizers of causes and organizations should exercise when determining if they wish to accept a donation offer from an individual, organization or cause. Learn more by reading "The Price of Due Diligence."
