Heh, I know. It just helps to be clear for other readers, because those little boxes get tricky to follow after a while, and If I am to be belaboured then I prefer it to be for things I actually said.
As I understand it a degree of "racism" or ultra-nationalism is ingrained in Japanese society and has been for a very long time. Japanese activities in war, whilst inexcusable by western standards, were for the most part within their own understanding of honour. The problem lies in how far a nation or race can be taken to task when their belief system contains precepts which are reprehensible to others.
Also, it seems a little silly and short-sighted to write off a nation/race as never being capable of being a dominant power again. It isn't only military strength that creates power. Look at Chinese economic dominion...
