Yeah, this was a UK thing a couple of years ago. Last I recall, consensual bondage practitioners were going to project a 200ft high Harriet Harman in a ball-gag on the side of Big Ben, or something of the sort. I have no idea what came of that plan, OR the legislation. Didn't seem to make any change in the nature of pr0n available on the net or in shops though.

My opinion is that people who get pleasure out of looking at sexual images of children, whether real or drawn, are sick in the head. I think that perving over drawn images leads to perving over real images and to real children being abused. I believe it's right and proper that society puts the safety of innocent children before the desires of perverts.

You, like the oh-so-wise Cecilia Malmström, and company, have this seemingly rational view, while research points in the very other direction. A person who has pedophilic thoughts, who has the availability of drawn images of children in sexual settings, can choose that kind of porn, instead of his or her cravings going out of control, making the person to start looking at REAL child porn, instead. Which do you prefer? And don't say "jail them all" because even if that'd end up being seen as the reasonable alternative, you couldn't possibly know who they were. And no, you could not surveil the whole population, like on the Internet, to find them, because there are these things called "routers" that more and more people are starting to use, "criminal" or not. But then again, maybe your solution now is to outlaw routers?

Did you know that when regular pornography - I said REGULAR pornography - was made illegal in Denmark, in the seventies, child rape went up with a significant amount? And when it was made legal, again, the trend quickly went in the opposite direction, decreasing child rape. This only from REGULAR pornography.

I always viewed myself as an opposer of child pornography. I always was sickened when I heard how some active pedophile in this country had thousands of child pornographic images, even depicting physical rape, yet he or she only got the mildest form of punishment. Now, however, my view on this has changed. Now I will ALWAYS ask: what kind of "child porn" did the accused REALLY possess? Is the accused quite possibly just yet another victim, like the manga and anime collector Simon Lundström? I ask, is that the change in opinion that people like you and Cecilia Malmstöm wanted to cause in people?

Can some manga and anime lovers here PLEASE post about this on some decent manga and anime forums? I posted about this on the MangaFox forums, in the right section, late in the evening, yesterday, and it was almost instantly removed.

Wow, this looks exceptionally dark! But that was what the Swedish party Piratpartiet told me when I called them about it, yesterday - I know they share my view, but people are too damned stupid or scared to understand.

It's a response your continued use of fallacious arguments, hyperbole and the immature position that someone has to have the same opinion as you or else they are stupid which makes further discussion pointless.

You know, it seems to me that it is the other way around. And at least I am not trying to make or preach for making one of your interests illegal. Or at least I doubt it. And no, I am not into pedo manga as you obviously now might think.

...Nevermind, it was only their spam filter which caused that, since I had posted the same in another section of the forum. -_-

I'm quite sure the legislation passed, but I have no idea if it's been enforced since.

Who wants to bet that, within five years, my copy of A Clockwork Orange will be illegal too?

The film spent long enough being "banned" because Kubrick himself feared it. In many ways it has lost a fair bit of impact, especially since Bart Simpson dressed up in a boiler suit and bowler.

I think that the ban on pornographic pseudo photographs of children is a jolly good law.

I think that part of the miller test should be used, but this time we will remove the clause which allows items with "artistic merit" to be legal. I think dirty pictures of children not the sort of thing which decent folk should tolerate in society.

What's tolerated in society just depends on the generation. I'm quite sure that about a hundred years ago, such images were quite normal anyway, and in another hundred years, who knows what society will deem as acceptable and unacceptable. And anyway, there are obvious moral objections to actual photographs - those are a direct product of child exploitation. But cartoon drawings and art... Aren't.

Plus, whatever the time period, I don't think censoring cartoon images of anything will do any good for anyone. If anything, all it'll do is drive the market for this manga stuff underground, just like when alcohol was illegal. Is it really worth it considering a cartoon doesn't harm anyone?

Nevermind. It's going to get illegal in Japan, as well. ALL hentai and ecchi with drawn "adults" or whatever else (that means all adult manga and anime). However, child porn - REAL child porn - will NOT be made illegal.

Case closed.

The ones I like.

Not that I like all that will be made illegal.

Not that I care if anyone thinks I like the sickest shìt out there, as well. It is all irrelevant.

All is irrelevant.
