I posted the links to the NSA website about a week ago and notice that nobody has addressed the following questions;

1 - why does the NSA have a portfolio area called "Extraterrestrial Intelligence"
2 - why the NSA has funded deep space search for extraterrestrial signals without the knowledge of SETI?
3 - why since the May 2011 release of these documents nobody in the media has asked the NSA about them?
4. - why the NSA technical journal publicly discloses the existence of prior knowledge of intelligent life sending messages?

I agree with jojo bean that people are so programmed to dismiss related information on UFOs that the prospect of the NSA holding information that strongly indicates messages from deep space conflict with their belief that alien life forms "can't exist".

A little background to the NSA documents...

A recent UFO-related document release by the U.S. National Security Agency purportedly “in response to the numerous requests received by NSA on the subject of Unidentified Flying Objects (UFO)” is more interesting for what it “could” not find that what it actually released to the public domain.

The UFO related documents released by NSA are limited to 42 sets of documents. The preponderance of these documents are documents generated by the UFO research community. NSA states in a brief preface to its release, “In 1980, NSA was involved in Civil Action No. 80-1562, "Citizens Against Unidentified Flying Objects Secrecy v. National Security Agency". Documents related to that litigation are marked with ‘*’.” An inordinate number of the UFO-related documents released by NSA relate to legal papers in the 1980 lawsuit brought by CAUS under the leadership of Arizona attorney Peter Gerstein, over 30 years ago.

The NSA article is described as developing a key to understand these alien messages.

The following is transcribed from Page 21, Appendix:
Recently a series of radio messages was heard coming from outer space. The transmission was not continuous, but cut by pauses into pieces which could be taken as units, for they were repeated over and over again. The pauses show here as punctuation. The various combination have been represented by letters of the alphabet, so that the messages can be written down. Each message except the first is given here only once. The serial number of the messages has been supplied for each reference.

If the penny hasn’t dropped yet, This now unclassified document not only confirms the presence of extraterrestrials, but that the US Government has received deep space transmissions from a civilization outside our own solar system !

From my research all I am able to conclude is that alien life exists, there is a lot of life within our own galaxy and that they are actively interacting with governments on Earth to this day and I'm certain this will prove to be true, eventually. Information regarding the alien/ufo topic should be considered very carefully, this type of information can best be described as utter chaos, simply because it is almost impossible to discern truth from the disinformation and lies, especially when you don't have any prior truth to compare the information and you have a government that is lying to your face and with-holding knowledge, you kinda have to go by intuition and logic alone.

Along with the alien topic, I also believe the government lied about the moon, venus and mars.

Start digging, there's much more going on here than they want you to believe.

More precisely, it is clear that life could possibly exist off planet, but we will not know for sure until we find it.

I do find it ironic that most everyone on wp can believe in aliens based on statistics alone, but when someone like cyber dad comes up with some proof of them actually interacting with people,...then he is practically labeled as a kook, and trailer trash to boot. I wonder why this is??

I didn't see any such labeling and I also didn't see any proof of aliens interacting with people. I saw links to a website. That is not proof of aliens contacting humans. That is proof of somebody with access to a government website posting some vague claims.

Just because a transmission has a pattern doesn't mean that pattern was made by aliens.

Also, don't rule out pranking.

Yes I noticed this too. I am suspicious the response from the public to the FOI requested documents may have resulted in the NSA reviewing the merits of their disclosure.

To be precise - the NSA posted the documents in response to a Freedom of Information (FOI) request dating back to 1980. The research papers are not vague, rather they appear to be published by the NSA themselves.

Just confirming the NSA website is back up

Yes folks the NSA website is the real thing....no hoaxes, no pranks...it's the government's own research....just can't understand why the media haven't got hold of this yet??

Insufficient evidence for claim.

The NSA publishes what it wants published - no more, and no less.

There is still no valid material evidence for the existence of extra-terrestrial intelligence - only assumptions, opinions, rumors, and suspicions.

Self evident is it not?

Your statement is tantamount to the little Dutch boy standing with his pants down stopping a crack in a dam from leaking with his index finger. I'm afraid just because the dam hasn't burst yet doesn't mean you can stand there and just say we have nothing to worry about. I'm afraid the cracks have appeared.

What is stated in the NSA documents is so massive it will perhaps be a matter of time before a press conference is called to explain the meaning of the "intercepted messages" and perhaps why the NSA have a department for "Extraterrestrial Intelligence" when the Condon Report in the 1960's recommended the US government not spend tax payers money on the UFO phenomena.

Excuse my lack of science to back this up but I had read about some agency - I'm thinking it was SETI but I could be wrong - that intercepted a message that everyone was excited about. It supposedly had these same sorts of 'intelligent breaks' in the transmission but it was a solid source and repeated over and over with small variations in the transmission. It turned out to be the singles from a quasar being bent around a singularity which account for the regular signal and the reported 'breaks'.

Questions - why would it be assumed that the message can be 'decoded' into letters? Perhaps the cypher matched one of our recognized alphabets but I find it highly unlikely an alien race would send us a coded message that translated specifically into one of our languages.

If it is a message from an alien race - how do we know it isn't just their version of I Love Lucy? We've been spamming them for years...

In the time it took for this message to reach us, how do we know that culture even still exists? It could be billions of years old or older...

I think I want to see more verification that the signal is genuine and that all possible scientific answers have been exhausted.

The universe is too vast and too ancient for us to be alone. Just becasue we are still too dumb as a species to find our neighbors just yet, does not mean they are not there. I think they re out there - and that they just have no interest in us yet. We are kinda quaint in a violent, self destructive sort of way. As a species, I don't think we are ready for that news. Not. At. All.

Correct

SETI "assume" that aliens will receive our messages sent in the radio frequency of the electromagnetic spectrum. We honestly have no idea what forms of communication other beings use in far flung parts of the universe. We also have no idea if they have decoded our language into a format familiar to themselves. All unknown??

I'd assume the NSA with their overly big budget would employ people adequately qualified to recognize earth sourced signals bouncing back into our stratosphere.

Not sure? but yes the signal could indeed be millions of years old,

draelynn wrote:

So would I. What surprises me is the level of confidence the NSA scientists seem to have that this signal emanates from a intelligent life form.

I agree we are probably too primitive and still driven by animal based instinct and impulse to be taken seriously enough for a direct meeting. Heck if I was an alien I wouldn't waste my time with us.

The prevailing theory in the UFO community is we are on the brink of doing irreparable damage to the planet so the time is ripe for some type of interstellar intervention. Or so the theory goes.

Well ruveyn,
Hundreds of thousands of alleged alien abductees separated by thousands of kilometres and often continents and even as far away as tribal Africa all seem to have three things in common
1 - they are abducted by gray aliens with big almond shaped eyes and small spindly bodies (see my avatar)
2 - their sperm/ova are extracted and used to create human/alien hybrids
3 - the aliens appear to explain that the earth is facing imminent danger (environmental?) so the hybrids will take stewardship over the planet.

While this appears far fetched the above scenario was even repeated by a small 5 yr old Rhodesian school girl who was able to convey this information to a visiting Harvard psychologist (Prof John Mack) from a close encounter at her school with a hundred other children.

In most countries their legal system would accept the testimonies as incontrovertible evidence given the similarity of the experience.
