"Poo Poo" book removed from elementary school

I can see the parents' point, though. The book has the same language their kid was using. The difference is the book wasn't calling another kid a poo poo head like their son did.

I have written and illustrated many "childrens" stories in the past twenty or so years of my life and they will never be made into actual books for others to read, making me a failure as an author. And when I see some of the books that DO get published, usually some stupid piece of drivel "written" by a "celebrity", it pains me to the core. So you won't see me sobbing over some flash-in-the-pan book being banned. If only that happened to one of MY stories at a school, it would make it even MORE popular because everything has to be controversial now.

I used to read the Captain Underpants books in Elementary (that was only like 6-7 Years ago...) And they were entertaining, and isn't that the point?!?

Books that are funny and stupid encourage kids to read (I was reading at high school level by 5th grade) and if kids are allowed to be cussing 24/7 and bring knives and guns to school, but can't have fun reading a harmless book while developing a love of reading, then I don't know what kind of world we live in.

And seriously, Poo-Poo Head, Is that Really the worst they're saying?

If I had a kid I would learn it swear words because it extends your vocalbulary and I wouldn't mind it using them.

Those parents who complained about that word haven't met my dad are you f*cking kidding me he swears in like every second sentence but the funny is I didn't learn it from him because I don't live with him I learned it from my mom when she tries to repair something xD

I swear all the time because it is just words! not like I would become a serial killer because I use the word f*ck 10 times a day maybe 20.

However would they cope if they saw that South Korean film titled Doggy Poo?! It's about a piece of dog poo that gets feelings and stuff. Haven't seen it myself but you can imagine that it is all going to go downhill from there...

They suspend a kid for calling some one "poo poo head" but when I was told I had AIDS and told my family all wore straight jackets, I was told not to take it so personal? Very strange but not really that surprising.
