I have never quite understood why homosexuality was forbidden in the ranks of the U.S. armed forces at one time. Historically, the greatest infantry warriors of all time were the Spartans and they used homosexuality among the troops as a means of bonding. I person would fight more fiercely to protect a lover than one he was indifferent to. It seems that Christian priggishness has gotten in the way of historical insight.

All I have to say is ...it is about time. This is not a morality issue...its a civil rights issue.
LGBT folks have no choice in who they are...its genetic....they havent found the gene yet, but they will someday if politics dont get in the way.

However, I am glad for the step in the right direction....now on to gay marriage.

There are no genes for gayness like there are no genes for an elephant's trunk. But the predisposition overrides all absurd phobic imperatives about homosexuality. It's nature's way of sticking its middle finger up at bogus moralists.
