Who cares. Whatever the evangs do or don't do or possibly might do if they get the whim or are told in tongues, you probably won't like it.

Untrue. I very much respect what Pat Robertson - yes, Pat Robertson! - has done to help starving people in Africa, working alongside George Cloony.

Dear Douglas MacNeill, thank you for the information/clarification. And thank you, natural plastic, but could you pinpoint where In Nostradamus' writings I could look that up? I am really interested in the 3 Antichrists idea...Sylkat 8O :D

At a recent LA fundraiser, a heckler who must've paid 250.00 to get in, screamed at President Obama: "Jesus Christ is Lord!"
When Obama answered that he agreed, the heckler screamed: "You are the Antichrist!" Continuing to scream that Jesus was Lord, the crowd began to boo him, then finally began the "Four more years" chant as the heckler was escorted out of the building.

What do you want to bet that the right is going to take this out of context, and say that Obama's supporters were booing "Jesus Christ is Lord."

Of course there are some people on the far right who are going to take it out of context. People are willing to demonize others when they don't agree. Obama handled this very well. He was even concerned the heckler forgot his jacket after he was escorted out.

Nostradamus didn't say it explicitly in any of his writings. It is the interpretation from numerous people who try to interpret the ambiguous quatrains. That's the problem. They can mean anything.

There is this interesting book where the author claimed to channel "Nostradamus" to directly translate the ambiguous quatrains to something non-ambiguous. It was very interesting.

Yes, extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. Take it with a grain of salt. I don't believe everything in this book, but I did use it to predict the Arab Spring back in early 2011. I also used it to predict the global economic meltdown back in 2007 and the unresolved debt crisis. And the increase in fundamentalism in Islam and Christianity. I like how it details everything in cause and effect so the book does have some validity to it in that way. Some things did not happen. However, it has more hits than chance would allow.

The book is a trilogy series called "Conversations with Nostradamus". If you want to learn more about it PM me. I have studied the books extensively.

It is like a science experiment because some of the things are said to "definitely" happen. Therefore, it is falsifiable. If it doesn't happen, I will immediately call it "crap". If it does, then I will proceed to wet my pants. I like the suspense though. It keeps life interesting.

i wonder who the blue turbaned one could possibly be. i believe the antichrist is alive now. one thing said about the antichrist is that nobody will be able to make war with him because he will be utterly reasonable beyond contention, that he will outthink his enemies but make it seem like it was their own idea.

It was speculated by Nostradamus fans that this antichrist person would be a very handsome leader from the middle east. It was also speculated that people's names reveal something about themselves. (Conversations with Nostradamus volume II & III)

If I had to guess since this person is middle eastern and "handsome" as emphasized, I think this name would be "Jamal" which means "handsome" in Arabic.

Obama's ears are too big. :D

I feel this discussion doesn't fit in here. PM me if you want to discuss. I rather talk about it 1 on 1.

They should have an antichrist alumni association.

Give me a decade and I will probably qualify.

i remember watching a "60 minutes" about a decade back, i can't remember the name of the fella but at the time he was a 15 year old high school [for the gifted] senior [with a genius-level IQ who spoke 7 languages fluently]- i can't remember which city but it was in ontario province] who had the audience of world leaders. i remember thinking at the time, "who will be able to make war with him?"

As far as I'm concerned, the Biblical reference to the Antichrist is of the Roman Emperor Nero, who had persecuted the early church, and whose mismanagement of government and death had thrown the Roman world into year long civil war, otherwise known as the Year of Four Emperors.

I always took it as a coded recipe for chicken noodle soup, albeit it's a little thick on the paprika for my taste.

No it isn't unless you believe that the persecution of innocents by the army is somehow acceptable because they're gay. The death of Anwar Al-Awlaki, a terrorist leader, doesn't sound good. The only americans I'd think who would say that the world is getting worse are right-winged United States Americans who are in the grip of an apocalyptic religious annihilation and want their beliefs vindicated even if it means ignoring the truth.

I'm am so very sick of bible-thumpers using religion to act like idiots and to abuse, manipulate, rape, murder, justify polygamy, or just act plain superior because everyone is supposedly going to hell but them. It's the very reason why the US is such a huge mess and the wars in the mid-east have been going on for a decade, which has accomplished absolutely NOTHING, and nothing will ever be resolved and no one can settle their differences without killing and fighting because they all think "we are right you are wrong, you must die". :x That is if they're even thinking at all. :(

Your sadness is very intense and very well-placed. I hope I may be able to chip in and rid the world of such defilement.

Well, because no one is the Antichrist; and it's just political extremism to slap that label of being absolute evil on someone just to demonize them. For instance, I think Rick Perry is a political reactionary who has tied himself to religious nutballs, and we'd be far worse off electing him to the White House, but I'm not going to call him the Antichrist.
