That includes Hitler...which is possible I imagine, though I do not believe one has to be an aspie to write a manifesto.

I heard Hitler "definitely had Aspergers" from an aspie who read Mein Kampf and who, in my opinion, had the ability to make that judgement.

It's not a rule, of course, but I bet it applies often enough to freak you out.

And what gave him this ability? I mean I myself am self diagnosed so I am not opposed to people coming to conclusions based on information they look into.....but still one cannot say with 100% accuracy whether or not an historical figure had aspergers, it can be entertaining to think about it but trying to diagnose dead people should not be something to take seriously.

What gives anyone an ability? Just a particular kind of smartness, like a special interest. I recognise it in others. A much deeper insight than psychologists typically have. I definitely believe it is possible (for me or someone like me) to read someone's autobiography/manifesto and effectively diagnose them.

All I am saying is I doubt anyone can totally accurately diagnose dead people. It can be interesting and it is certainly possible Hitler had AS but you cannot really say for sure.

But either way what symptoms are you basing this on?

I suppose autistics could be mass murderers because they are smart enough to invent an atomic bomb. However they also can invent a nuclear rocket.

Sweetleaf, you aren't understanding. I'm saying that smart aspies with early childhood pressures to become good at reading people are better qualified to diagnose people from their writings than are random (nonautistic) psychologists meeting people. This is new information for you so don't expect to cope with it.

Well, I don't suppose much happens in small-town Norway. That would explain it.

Also, Lonermutant: glad to have you back again. And you still look like a grumpier version of Charlie Brooker, especially with the black clothes and the face.

How's life treating you? :)

It's you who's not understanding, I don't think random non-autistic psychologists can diagnose historical figures with 100% accuracy either.

Also since when can't I cope with new information, I actually like researching various topics and learning new information so that was a stupid assumption.

The difference is I know what I'm talking about whereas you're saying something that sounds right to you. It's like if you tried to argue with an aspie whose special interest was model aeroplanes based on what sounded reasonable when they knew the actual facts. For some reason everyone thinks they understand people but it's a special interest like any other. And nobody said anything about "100%".

All I said was I don't think it's possible to determine for sure whether or not Hitler had aspergers...so I don't see why your assuming I cannot cope with new information and trying to insult me I don't feel I did anything to deserve that.

It's possible to determine with decent accuracy, better than an average nonautistic psychologist meeting a person. And that's the standard we use.

Cool and my point was I don't think anyone can say for sure whether or not Hitler had aspergers, there was no need for insults.

No one can say for sure whether anyone has anyone. It's a redundant thing to say. Look how many living people get misdiagnosed.

It was simply my opinion...I guess I should quit having opinions if I don't want to be insulted.

I thought Hitler was a narcissistic sociopath... There are similarities to autism but in my experience, autistic people aren't evil minded enough to pull off 76 murders.

He killed 76 people??? That's a LOT by himself. Over what length of time? Gross! What's so amazing is that he didn't get caught before.
