Colorado Legalizes Marijuana . . .
As far as my Asperger's/autism issues are concerned for me, marijuana can reduce some sensory sensitivities that I have, but it also tends to aggravate my tendency to go "into my own world" and not pay attention to conversations. Doesn't seem to matter which strain I use.
Even if autism were recognized for medical marijuana, if I were to get medical marijuana it would be for insomnia, rather than Asperger's. Even then I would not want to smoke it every day, because I want my tolerance to stay low and it is bad for my lungs.

I find cannabis improves my social interactions. I become much more relaxed, enthusiastic and tuned into conversations. People, some who aren't aware of the cannabis, also tend to like me better under these conditions.
For treating insomnia, I personally find pot has the opposite effect. While I may feel sleepy for a short period of time, as the effects wear off, it becomes harder for me to sleep than had I not otherwise had it. Note that vaporization would solve the lungs issue.

Aspie from NZ here, so it'll take a long time for similar actions to happen here since my country is so backwards about these kinds of things at times.
it seems the majority of you are all in favour of this? I'm new to this site, and I'm wondering if anyone could point me to a poll thread about the subject? (for it, against it?)
I'm in favour of green, but have never taken it before; what does it do to you, as opposed to NTs you've taken it with?

However, it is a lot easier to fall sleep while you are still high. I wouldn't rely on it for sleeping every day though, that's just a personal thing.

Well you either smoke it or eat it(like in edibles, it can be cooked with), I don't know I just don't think the phrase 'taking marijuana' makes as much sense as like taking adderall(or any drug that comes in pill form, or I guess I would count snorting or injecting drugs 'taking them' but to me it doesn't make sense with things you smoke or eat aside from mushrooms but I guess maybe that is because you eat the straight mushroom rather then cooking say pot brownies for instance. With cannabis its more you can either smoke it, vaporize it(which is kind of like smoking it) or edible goods can be made with it though they usually have a longer onset smoking or vaporizing is quicker. Anyways it can effect different people differently it makes me feel better mentally/emotionally and even physically which in turn seems to make me a bit more active or motivated for things. Its also quite relaxing and the feeling of being stoned is nice(though its hard to describe kind of one of those things you'd have to experience to know what feels like) I also more or less have self medicated with it, but now I've been prescribed meds so I don't feel I rely on it as much as before, though I don't know that relying on klonopin is really a whole lot better.

For me, the best med for sleep is taking a melatonin pill although I know, for some, cannabis does work very well.
At least here in California where we have "medical" marijuana legalized, I'm not sure what conditions technically qualify you under the law, but in a practical sense, I've yet to meet anyone who wanted medical marijuana who couldn't figure out a way to get it. The entire "medical" aspect is a smokescreen designed to make such laws more palpable to those who would be opposed to outright legalization, but for all practical purposes, what we have in California right now is outright legalization, despite the "medical" moniker.
Thank you Sweetleaf, that's a lot of info. Although it's illegal here, it's a social norm to a lot of people. With many people smoking it through a bong; I've heard edibles are a rarity though, simply because of the cost. (I think $15nz get's you a "ding.")
anyway, I'm rambling. thanks for the info.

I don't have much experience with edibles; ones I have had didn't seem to effect me that much. The other way to go easy on lungs is to use a vaporizer. This lets you consume the weed without any combustion. While a good vaporizer isn't cheap, it's the most efficient method, requiring far less cannabis for the same effect. This process is not only better for you, but it's cheaper in the long run.
I guess Oregon will try again in 2014. Next time it should duplicate the WA bill. The measure 80 they tried for this time allowed for growing it unlike the other two states. I guess it was too extreme.

That will be hilarious if Seattle cops start openly smoking weed at some point.

wait... so you're allowed to buy it from somewhere other than the state in which you're smoking it, but don't grow it in the same state? That's ret*d...
