It's takes place on Mars but isn't in The Martian Chronicles,it's in Bradbury Stories,100 of his best.It appeared first in Starling Stories July 1949.

Thank you.I had an awesome English teacher that used Bradbury in the classroom as reading material.The class loved it.

public school teachers are a hardworking bunch for sure, but not all of 'em are inspired.

I dont envy their job,I had some great ones but not so great when I was in grade school.One told me I was too stupid to be in a reading group in 2nd grade.Proved her wrong.

as for me, the finest teacher on earth would likely have not made much of a difference, as i was special ed- now those types of educators have a HARD job.

i predict that whatever is revealed on mars is not going to be seen as earthshaking unless one is a scientist. IOW i don't believe that actual signs of life will be shown to be present. maybe relatively recent life, but not an actual present life process. i hope i'm wrong.
