All I do is give a factual update on a dead topic and a forum war brakes out about an unrelated topic, too funny.

Fonrd, I know people who subscribe to that theroy and lose very badly, its not that simple at all to be good and fast. Infact good circle trackers usually have a easier time adjusting to road racing then the other way around.

I think NASCAR is one of those sports you have watch while being hammered in order to enjoy. That, and with a natural lack of imagination.

I would agree most of the NASCAR races are a little long, NASCAR has become too comercial and there are to meny lazy people there becouse of their money and not there talent. I would recomend you check out your local speedway(asphalt or dirt, meny find dirt to be much more exciting) and see a race night in person, its more exciting, real normal people(like myself) racing and the feature races are more like 25-40 laps with 3-6 different types of cars racing. You can see 10-15 races in all in the time it takes NASCAR to run one. Thats what killed my intrest in NASCAR. I just want to make sure you seperate the sport of stock car racing from NASCAR the group as its not the same thing at all. And no I have never been intoxicated in my life. Decides being a weak and dyspraxic aspie like myself, this is the only sport I can win at, from the neck up is what matters here, theres ways around the rest.

Yeah, but with NASCAR there's always those really BAD accidents to look forward to seeing.
You just don't get that from watching paint dry. Abut the best you'll ever get with that is if a fly lands on the wet paint and gets stuck and you can watch it struggle.

I see you're one of our neighbors to the north. I can't speak for Canada, but here in the United States, NASCAR has become so politicized that it's regarded as a Republican sport. When Democratic politicians show up at a race, their Republican counterparts make snide remarks about how they (the Democrats) have had to get them selves inoculated against the red, white, and blue first. Anyone following my posts can see pretty quickly that I'm a pretty liberal guy, and so, my opinion about American NASCAR has been colored by how politics have been attached to it.

I have noticed that aswell both on TV and at the 3 events I have attended in my life, there is a bit of culture shock to be felt when going to these events as a Canadian citizen. I have somewhere a t-shirt I got with an event program from 2004 that clearly was made to support the war in Iraq, no racing content at all, I kept it as a reminder of the times we were living in. I'm a left-centre person myself and belong to a Canadian political party that reflects that.
