Morons. Utter morons.

Even all those things combined still leave the number of active shooters amounting statistically to isolated incidents. There are tons of people that fit that description and never hurt anybody.

I'll have to hide my autism books in my gun safe under a stack of AR-15 mags.

So, Lanza was trying to understand himself with those books on autism. Might have helped had he had books on mental illness.

Which is the point of it all.

Nearly everyone will have "things" that these murderers have, and nearly everyone won't murder twenty children (murder anyone for that matter).

What bothers me the most is that National Public Radio is perpetuating this stigmatism. Of all media outlets, I would have thought NPR to be the one that actually thinks critically enough to realize that books about autism in a teacher's home is NOT news.

Hey, did Lanza have a Bible? You can find a lot violence in it. This whole thing shows how people are just ignorant of Aspergers. I remember the night this terrible shooting happened, Anderson Cooper was the only one saying that Aspergers does not make one violent.

You can have AS and be crazy just as easily as you can not have AS and be crazy. Or have AS and not be crazy. Lanza had AS and was crazy. Sometimes that happens. It's the crazy that caused the shooting, not the AS. That is sort of obvious to me.

Actually, I had heard last night on MSNBC that when Lanza had attended the local community college, he had failed to mention that he had been diagnosed with Asperger's. The implication of this might be that his mother and brother may only have thought he had Asperger's.

Yes! That is why I don't often watch the news. I am surprised that media companies have not been the target of mass shootings yet. They seem to piss a lot of people off don't they?

Oh goodness I hope that nobody goes through the stuff in my hosue they might find some more scary stuff like a couple of cans of WD40 (perfect as gun oil), some books on AS, spare lawnmower blades, a couple of lawnmowers, three frying pans, a butane stove, some monumentaly hot chilli powder, about ten types of dog food, a 2 kilo sledgehammer, kitchen knifes, some presharpened wooden stakes hidden by being partly sunk into the ground, car keys and some women's clothing.

It might sound like the local sadistic serial killer's shopping list, but it is just a random list of household items in a married man's house (I do not wear lady's clothing) who happens to have a dog in the house. I think that too much is being made of the AS books, if you are going to list them then you should list every other item in the house like the chilli peppers (trust me they can be used to do nasty stuff.)

Perhapes I should wrap the AS books in cling film and hide them in the forest at midnight.

Diagnosed under the DSM5 rules with autism spectrum disorder, under DSM4 psychologist said would have been AS (299.80) but I suspect that I am somewhere between 299.80 and 299.00 (Autism) under DSM4.

I agree. It's stupid. Only one Web news source (MSN) that I read stated on one of their stories that people with Asperger's are not violent as a group...

The news is just pissing me off (pardon me) at this point.
