And you can also add the DoNotTrackMe extension for free, if you're using Google Chrome.

they are monitoring and recording EVERYTHING

there are literally files on tens of millions of Americans

And not just Americans...

I don't think many people will be surprised by the disclosure...
Maybe just by the degree...
How long has "Echelon" been around?
Decades?

You would have to be very naive to think big brother isn't watching...
Just communicate over the net and phone with the belief that "anything you say may be held against you in a court of law"... ;)
Just write what you are comfortable with, and welcome to the New World Order....Bwahahahah

They how can useful data be extracted from such a mess? Collecting -everything- runs a close second to collecting -nothing-.

The main hazard I see is that it can be used in political skullduggery. But for "little people" it is hardly a danger since "little people" have nothing and do nothing that those in power are interested in.

The article says they haven't achieved an automated algorithmic filtering system, but personally I think that is just a matter of time.
I hope I am not around to see it...

I believe the studies into artificial intelligence, for example, is progressing at an uncomfortable rate...for we humans, not the A.I...
If it does happen, there will be no need for NSA surveillance...
The N.S.A.A.I. will take over... ;)
