Cave Art May Have Been Created By Women

You know - that actually makes a lot of sense. From what I understand, many of the cave paintings were located far back in almost inaccessible parts of the caves, where the painter would have had to have crawled through narrow spaces. Upper Paleolithic Europeans were in general robust individuals to begin with, and logic would seem to dictate women being of a smaller build were more likely to reach these tight places.

As long as you are no archaeologist, that will be pretty normal. Caves with caves paintings, are normally forbidden to enter, because of the damp from breathing and sweating, destroying the cave paintings.

If you want to point on the famous cave by lascaux in france that is visitable....the complete cave has been professionally faked in an nearbye cave. So the ones that you are allowed to visit are not the real ones, despite that they have been copied 1:1 and therefore even the cave ceiling was artificially changed. As long as you are no specialist, it doesnt matter, so they fake is just like the real one, but simply can be repainted every 20 years, so damp doesnt matter. ^^

About the judging of the creator of cavepaintings being female or male and so being the one that invented art: I think its stupid out of different reasons. Starting with, that cave painting hardly will have been the first art invented, but its simply the one that lasted longest. From my oppinion, the inventor of any kind of art, meaning to do something out of it being fun to you and the result pleasing you and being interesting to you, simply will have been kids, because of them having the greatest motivation to try new things.

I'm fortunate to live where there are beautiful caves,some open to the public.A favorite summer outing was for families to do a cave tour.Almost all the schools would have a field trip to a cave.One bonus is that it is nice and cool in there compared to 90's outside in the summer.and they are warm on the winter.Be sure you go to the bathroom first,all that dripping water makes some people want to pee.
