Hawaii governor signs law toady, to be effective Dec 2: http://www.washingtonpost.com/national/ ... story.html

Though a challenge has been filed on constitutional grounds, but should be rejected as it is based on the right of the legislature to disallow same-sex marriages, but it does not require them to do so.

In honor of my recent trip to Hawaii, I have this to say: "Mahalo to you for marriage equality! Cheers!"

Why is government even involved in the marriage business?

A question that has plagued me for many years. I guess because there's some money involved in it.

And now the court challenge has been rejected:

Hopefully, there should be no further impediments to allowing same-sex couples to marry in Hawaii, starting from December.

Well, you can't blame this guy for trying.

The same State Representative that tried to block the new marriage equality law in court, is now at it again. This time Hawaii Rep. Bob McDermott has asked a state court to reconsider its previous decision not to overturn the law. A hearing is scheduled for Jan 13 next year. Meanwhile, marriage for same-sex couples will become a reality on Monday next week.

I'm happy every time I hear one of the states legalise something like this , Gay marriage has been legal here in the UK since 2005 , although its been called Civil partnerships , its will name will soon be changed to Gay marriage.

Don't worry guys , Generation Y will come into power in 20 years or so , and then weed will be legal!
