Meh. I don't know what the fuss is all about. Kids have been butchering the language since the time of cavemen grunting. Unless they're just plain uneducated, they usually outgrow it by the time they reach college where freshmen English beats it out of them.

The problem's been around for a few years. But just the same, it's not a good sign, especially for education.

I dunno about that... I took freshman English when I was 16 (before I dropped out of college for the first time). It seems as though it has been significantly dumbed down since then. When I was working at night 2 years ago, I worked with a few people who had to take it. It was nothing like what I took.

What I'm having a harder time reconciling with is the fact that they actually put that kind of filler news on their website.

I mean, the point of view has already been chosen and is being spoon-fed to the reader.

At least at my college freshman English doesn't have anything to do with English other than the fact that it is the language that is used in the course.

No, that should not be a joke. That should be how we actually do that in all subjects. That would motivate me to become a teacher!!
