Then it's time for a pair of shades.

Actually, I just got reminded of this (only need to watch it up to 3 minutes in):

^ Actually, would you need shades with all that ash around?

I should have remembered about Krakatoa. Hmm, five years of volcanic winters. What would Yellowstone do? Oh my.

I may well be mistaken, but it seems I once saw a documentary that said London experienced some red skies after Krakatoa. I would imagine that would have been primarily just heightened colors during sunrise and sunset.

Indeed. And the religious types will blame it on gay marriage. God's wrath and all of that. :)

The statistical likelihood of this happening is for all intents and purposes roughly the same as that of the giant space cabbage colliding with the earth. Basically, ain't gonna happen :P But, it is an interesting what if.

I really don't think it matters either way. If it happens we are screwed. Might as well not worry about it, cause we might have another 20-30 thousand years anyway.
I'd agree. Some possibilities are so horrifying and uncontrollable that they come full circle and stop being worth worrying about at all.

Of course, having anxiety myself, I realise this may not be as easy, especially as I live in the UK. As I understand it, we would feel the effects, but not as severely. I'd be a lot more worried if I was closer.

I'm sure they have people monitoring the place, if nothing else, simply because it's a geologically significant area. Hopefully, they would be able to give at least some warning if the time came near.

Even if there was warning.....where is everyone supposed to go?

Yeah. You can just make out the Larson signature on the top right. I really liked his stuff too.

Exactly. And if you think you can 'stock up' and hunker down somewhere with your guns, excetera, you'll just be a supply depot for the first cannibal-scavenger band that comes along. If you can't beat them, join them, I always say. So who's for lunch?

Actually, there were no more reports of animals leaving the area and the park is full of them.
The Helium -4 gases they just apparently started testing for and where surprised by its high levels, but that does not mean thats not normal for the caldera because of its size.
