2 12yr Old Girls Stab Third 12yr Old Girl 19 Times In Bid to
I remember watching a weird case on the news, years ago...
Two women had gotten their heads twisted by some occult practices and had also gotten an odd Stephen King fixation; not on him, but one of his books.
Anyway, one of them lured a guy from a bar back to their house, the other woman was hiding in the bathroom with an axe, and when the guy went to use the toilet, she attacked him, screaming 'Redrum, Redrum!'
He escaped, called the cops, they were arrested, and were both completely lost in their fantasy world....they believed all this nonsense, and were trying to sacrifice a human being!
Point is, 'Everyone' reads Stephen King, 'Everyone' knows a little about the occult, 'Everyone' has favorite fictional characters, be they Internet, cartoons, anime', film characters.....these interests
Are.
Not.
Harmful.
The harm is when anyone, any age, gender, nationality, anyone gets so 'into' ANYthing that they will willingly hurt someone.
These girls had the potential for violence without the Slenderman; after all, every society has had children who have killed.
Jamie Bulger case
Mary Bell.
Peter Kurtin.

Not sure what's worse, the fact these kids seemed to know what they were doing or the fact the parents seem to not be strict enough. The stories I hear of 6-8 years olds that watch 18+ films and play 18+ games, it's scary

Given the motive, it's hard to doubt there's mental illness involved, but having said that, the advance planning, the fact they knew and had befriended their victim and the nature of the attack show a very high degree of callousness and viciousness. Tons of questions, but for starters: How did these girls "fall through the cracks" (I doubt they snapped out of the blue)? Where were the parents? What combination of environmental and innate factors shape them into the monsters they've become?
