I think the guy building it has more to offer than a magic brick wall, you have to try something to see if it works, how else will improvements be made?

Since we're on the topic of Tornado's I know on the original Fujita scale went up to F12 which I believe would be the sound of speed tho F6 was the highest with a description "Inconceivable Tornado" tho in recent times some tornadoes topped out with wind speeds at or greater then 300 mph if one were to add an EF-6 rating what would the criteria be for that? For ef-5 houses would have to be wiped clean from the foundations. and well constructed commercial buildings would be deformed

Would it be "The Great Wall of Kansas"? Think of how fun it would be to walk on the top of a 1000 foot high wall ! !

I wonder if some kind of portable HAARP technology could be used to defuse tornados and other wind storms?

I'm sort of fascinated by them, one hit our street when I was a kid.It took the roof off a house but left the magazines on the coffee table untouched. My Aunt told me about one that picked the cows up out of one field and set them down alive in another. There was a family that always put on their Sunday best and laid in their beds so if a twister hit, they would be dressed for the funeral.

I doubt building a wall to withhold a tornado will work considering that the strongest tornado an EF-5 can do MAJOR structural damages to even the most well built buildings even an high end EF-2-4 can do moderate to severe structural damages. The only thing I see a brick wall doing is creating more deadly debris

The original article I read a few days ago said there would need to be three of these walls spaced strategically along tornado alley in order to break the weather stream to interrupt the process that allows tornados to form in the first place.

Now that's an engineer for you. "No, we'll need to build THREE of them, not just one."

Tornadoes can and do survive in major cities with high rises.

A giant wall that could create more flying debris in case of an F5 tornado........pass.

Which conspiracy is that ???

I once saw a story showing a home in Southern California USA that survived one of those out of control wildfires. The guy who owned the house said he chose a tile roof and stucco walls because of the fire danger. All of his neighbors had wooden shingle roofs. That led me to think there could be a design for a house to resist tornados.

Whoah, this is like, some serious sci-fi stuff right here. With this we can stop tornadoes, volcanoes, floods, terrorist attacks, all kinds of disasters!

I'm frankly disappointed at the pictures of Pensmore. I really doubt that flat walls would resist a tornado, unless they are super-duper reinforced. My idea is to use sloping outer walls as protection, since the wind wants to tear at flat surfaces.
