I do the same with Satanists and atheists.
And I just try to remember that people are people no matter what group they (or you) label them as. You always have your bad eggs and those who do good things and care about those around them. A person's religion has about as much to do with their integrity as what country their grandparents were born in or their shoe size. Except for people with really big feet; you just can't trust those sneaky b*stards.
Religion is a choice. By the time I was old enough to make my own, 14 in my country, I made my choice.
Also, the country my grandparents were born in doesn't threaten me with sending me to hell, or make me ask others to join it.- maybe that's because it doesn't exist anymore. Actually, IT DID threaten to send people to hell, AND try to force them even to join it.
ah.
maybe the country my grandparents were born in is a bit of a problematic item for analogies....
Admittedly, my large feet are trying to proselytize.
Or was that the voice of god?
- anyway, it is difficult to aks of a religious person to present other religions in a neutral way, as neutrality implies the person would be presenting his or her own religion as 'one man-made idea among many', which a religious person must object to, and therefore either the integrity as a teacher, or the integrity as a believer is in question. Religion being viewed as such a fundamental thing, integritay as believer usually outweighs.
Hence: ... do not trust in anyone's integrity who belives in anything, or who's grandparents were born at all. MAYBE you can still trust in the integrity of agnostics, but I'm not sure
I only trust the teachings of my mighty feet.
