I wonder if there will be blood shed over the polar regions. The noose of want of resources only tightens as time goes by.

Mary had a little lamb,
His fleece was white as snow,
And everywhere that Mary went,
The lamb was sure to go.

Good point, but nitromethane is still too expensive.

Canada as an Arctic Nation

Black Oil, Blue Ice topic

There is always a reason for another Cold War--and now because of climate change the Northwest Passage may be totally ice free in the not so distant future. Fossil fuels lurk beneath the Arctic Ocean, and there are many nations wanting to get in on these riches. I just finished watching the 10 part series The Polar Sea, in which issues were raised by different countries about environment, native wildlife, political sovereignty, and First Nations Rights--all of which are being impacted by the discovery of untouched energy that could be exploited, resulting in disastrous consequences. Claims by one nation to own a conceptual part of frozen ice are trivial and indicate a lack of respect for the concerns mentioned here.
