Start with Berkeley, 1964 … You're my age, and you need for me to catalogue for you all the times a protest or sit-in or riot ended with authorities caving or compromising on various issues? Seriously? It's not a controversial statement. Rather like remarking that it tends to rain a lot in Seattle. Not my fault if this is somehow news to you.
But those examples are hardly comparable, as those sit-ins were completely non-violent, while the riots were about people fed up with being an underclass. And I'm pretty certain a whole lot of riots were dispersed by force of arms, without any caving in or compromise. The biggest difference is, is that these ranchers and their militia buddies imagine themselves to be tread upon, when their grievances hardly compare to the racial injustices the left wing protesters had to fight against.

Forcibly occupying property which does not belong to you, whether a street, a building, the Dean's office, or Alcatraz, and barring its use by others – is not "completely non-violent." It is the initiation of force, which I oppose in every instance.
You are supporting my statement: if it were a different group in that building in Oregon, the Left would be hailing them as heroes.

A bunch of hippies occupying college administrative buildings, or union members on strike with a sit-in at their workplace hardly was ever violent.
No, I'm not proving your point, as those cowboy wannabe cry babies don't have anything to complain about. The Oregon ranch family in question were found guilty of committing arson on federal land in order to cover their tracks while poaching. All that land rights bullsh*t is just that: bullsh*t. That, and unlike pot smoking hippies, or Joe sixpack on strike, that Oregon crew is threatening violence against law enforcement.
By the way, when the Weather Underground was committing acts of terror, few on the left defended them, because that group were guilty of much more than peaceful sit-ins.
And in closing, one of those cowboy wannabe crybabies in Oregon is none other than one of the assh*les in Texas who has been trying to provoke Muslim Americans with all their religious and racial bigotry outside of said Muslims' Mosques. If he's any indication of the kind of people occupying that building, then they clearly don't represent what this country stands for.

The Left has done far worse things than this. Proof? THE OCCUPY MOVEMENT. Occupy Oakland was one of the worst groups by actually going up against the police when they were trying to get control of the situation.
There were 7700+ arrests, 400+ injuries and 32 deaths. The Right has a long way to go before they can even come close to all the things the Left has done.

Darn, I flunked.
Maybe instead of trying to tear each other down, everybody should stand up to federal tyranny together? That's why BLM, Occupy, whatever are terrible since they take law enforcement's side in these conflicts but expect anybody to care about them.
What the Bundy boys are doing is no doubt stupid but the Hammond case is definitely a miscarriage of justice, the amount of "federal land" the US government "manages" in the west is ridiculous. That's the majority of the land, I expect to see some western states declare sovereignty over their natural resources. We had that on the ballot in 2012, a lot has happened since.

Occupy Spokane actually went off without a hitch. No deaths, no arrests, the protesters actually saved a woman who was being physically assaulted. All because the Spokane PD didn't try to hassle the protesters, but respected their rights of speech and assembly.
In other cities where there was trouble, you tended to find a high degree of police abuse, while most of the violence, drug use, and death was brought about by people outside the Occupy movement who just showed up because they saw it as a free for all for letting loose.

If it were members of some Indian tribe occupying a government building, how much different would the reactions be, on both sides?
How do you mean leftist groups get part of what they want through occupying government buildings? Some examples, please.
You're asking for examples???
Funny you can never seem to find them even within this website when asked to support your own accusations...

I suppose I don't supply examples when I feel a certain lack of respect for trolling members.

But it's okay when the left does it because at least thier hearts are in the right place.
Just ask any liberal.

Yea, the right causes mayhem through legal channels.

Asking someone to substantiate their accusations with evidence is now trolling?

I think there is a difference between most protests and an armed group taking over a building.

Yes the right is so full of innocent little saints who can do no wrong...and those non-right wingers well, why they're the cause of every single last problem in the country.

But you're ok with it if right wingers occupy a building and bar its use?
Also nothing in that statement implies the left would celebrate this action from a different group than the one doing it I think the whole situation sounds ridiculous and is likely to just end up in some violent siege, even if it was a more left wing group doing the same thing I'd feel the same way.

I just love how the Left takes something that the Right is doing and blows it way out of proportion and then takes something the Left has done that is just way out in left field and manages to trivialize it and even find a way to twist it to make it into something positive. Unbelievable.
