Not mine. Snape was nothing more than a bully. There's no excuse for that kind of behavior as a teacher.

Rickman did do a good job, though.

He'll still be into party politics, he'll still go to meetings.

From Truly Madly Deeply. An actor's death feels a lot more neatly dealt with and less of a change if he has played a ghost.

I'm sad to hear it. I loved the Harry Potter movies.

Are there Snapewars here on WrongPlanet? I spent a lot of time on HarryPotter fan sites over the last 10 or 12 people watching this huge debate over whether Snape was good or bad or gray. Rowling says he was meant to be a gray character but it's hard for me at least to see good in him.

Does he have defenders on this site? Were there threads here on Wrong Planet where people discussed and debated the HarryPotter books/movies before it became all over?

Fascinating, gifted, attractive man......

Delightfully talented actor who could do anything.... Drama, comedy, romance, even did a musical; the judge in 'Sweeney Todd'.....no one, no one like him.

Poor Rima must be so very lost and alone now; they were soul mates for 50 years.

Count me as one of his defenders here. He saved Harry Potter"s life in Chambers. Watched over Harry Potter under instructions from Dumbledore and only able to reveal the truth to Harry on his deathbed.

And his life was so sadly incomplete because he never met me.

Heavy sigh.

And how can any of us have any sort of life, then? I might as well put my head into the oven.

I, for one, would like to meet Sylkat.

Even if she should really turn out to be a 1 year old dormouse on a herb, drinking tea and eating ice cream.

I definitely don't wish to meet any of the Kardashian clan, among others.

I figured just statistically there was likely at least one "Snapewife" on the WrongPlanet.

Rickman was a great actor but Severus Snape is not Alan Rickman. Snape is a whole other ball of wax.

The last enemy to be defeated is death.

I really enjoyed Snape, but my favorite Rickman performance was as Colonel Brandon in Sense and Sensibility.

Sorry, but bullying is bullying. Snape is as bad a teacher as Ron Weasley is bad as a friend to Harry Potter.

Look, I want to like Harry Potter. I enjoy Fanfiction of it, but let's face it, Rowling totally messed up the canon version, even Rowling herself admits it.

Let me explain. Abused and bullied children do not become well-adjusted members of society simply because you remove them from the abusive environment. Nor do they tend to be very trustful to others. How come nobody noticed how much abusive he suffered or did anything about it? He's too well-balanced for everything he went through at his age. How exactly can somebody learn love when they are shown so little of it? Many abusive parents are surprisingly unapologetic about the abusive they inflict on children.

I am willing to let a few mistakes go in fiction go, but this is too much.

Sorry for the rant.

Did my rant make everyone disappear? I'm sorry. :(

However, it does mean Alan Rickman did a very good job. Great voice, too.
