it does no use trying to convince amuuricans they won't be rich themselves one day, de Tocqueville knew this almost 200 years ago. so when anybody says "tax the rich!" we are conditioned to think "but i'll be rich one day, I'd better not do that."

I don't think they really believe that they will be rich some day. They simply believe the rich are Randian demigods. If you tax the Job Creators (who art most merciful), they will surely unleash their wrath upon the ungrateful. It's a case of Stockholm syndrome, same as most religions. If you know what's best for you you will submit to those with more power than you (be they gods or simply rich men). Conservatives seem to have this deeply ingrained fatalistic mindset. The rich are gods, and everyone else is powerless. The rich continually get richer, the poor continually get poorer, and there's just not a damn thing anyone can do about it. It's just "the way it is". Don't even think of trying to make the world better, more fair, etc... you'll just end up f*****g it up. It's all extremely depressing.

Actually, I recall people a few years back saying that the rich shouldn't be taxed, because, "I might win the lottery!"

The neoconservatives want hegemony, they want to literally dominate the globe but not for America but a globalist elite that is not accountable to any nation. They took out communists in Afghanistan and got al-Qaeda, we took out Saddam and got ISIS, we took out Gaddafi and got a failed state that is being conquered by a assortment of jihadists groups including ISIS, if we had got involved in Syria we would of been handing the country to ISIS who would then be on the door step of Lebanon, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Israel.

You forgot the word "by".

The usa took out communists in afghanistan BY alqaeda, took out libya BY the same alqaeda, trying to take out syria BY Islamic state.

These proxy armies have been personally raised, trained, funded and supplied with arms by the usa themselves, and supported by saudi arabia and turkey under erdogan.
