This is just the beginning, the "refugees" are really a conquering army

ISIS literally said that they will use the crisis to sneak in hundreds if not thousands of fighters, something 5000 EU citizens are already members of ISIS. Europe has an unfathomable security problem and a permanent fifth column in Europe. These people are no integrating, they are becoming more insular and more extreme as the generations go on. The kids are the ones that are traveling to Syria and cutting off heads.

Terrible.

There is a video of people evacuating a smoke filled train tunnel under emergency lighting and a baby can be heard screaming. Somehow, the cries of this baby seemed like a totally fitting response to the situation. It is horrible.

I have seen this videos too on TV.
I have also seen videos from Zaventem Airport on TV one minute after the two explosions and there were baby-buggies in the smoke and people on the floor holding their little children.
That's the worst, they don't fight man to man, but get little children involved.

Yes, nuking ISIS cells in Europe certainly wouldn't kill off a lot more European citizenry now would it.

That would be just about reckless and even more devastating than this terrorist attack.

Any sources for this at all? I would not be suprised some terrorists sneak in as refugees but I need a little more evidence to be convinced all the refugees are part of a conquering army with the goal to take anything over. Also lots of those people getting their heads cut off are Muslims too who don't subscribe to ISIS's extremism.

I would agree that now is not the time for swaths of refugees to be let into europe unchecked, but I am still pretty certain many of the refugees are just that...refugees, until I see some evidence otherwise. But yeah it seems some don't have the capacity for security necessary to better ensure you don't have ISIS extremists sneaking through and monitor the refugee process. Not really an issue with any easy solution.

Sources on what? The 5000 number? Apparently it's up to 6000 and that was during April last year. Now I know Russia killed a lot of these rats over the past year but I think it is safe to say that it is at least that number/

We can't vet these people, these ISIS terrorists only share one thing in common and we all know what that is.

ISIS is serious threat that controls territory in Syria, Iraq, Libya, Yemen, the Sinai, and it's growing in Nigeria and the Causcuses. They obviously have a large presence in Europe as well. There presence across continents means they're not going away and their controlling of territory gives them legitimacy as the Islamic caliphate that they claim to be which will only win more to the sick cause.

How do we make sure these people don't come to this country? Is there anything wrong with being safe?

Gaddafi warned us about this all before we had him murdered

Agnostic extremists again, no doubt. When will the madness end?

Do liberty, equality and fraternity mean anything to you? Anyway closing borders won't prevent ISIS to recruit europeans, as communication ignore borders and they can still use internet as a propaganda and recruitment tool. And there is white christian europeans that buy in the ISIS propaganda and even join them.

ISIS is a temporary threat; they have too many enemies to survive in long term. They also have demographic problems as many peoples flee them; helping those peoples fly is a good way to weaken ISIS.

ISIS isn't a temporary problem, they're not just going to disappear. It's like wack-a-mole, you knock this jihadis out one place and then they regroup somewhere else. Our wars against Islamic extremists have been completely ineffectual and played right into the hands of our enemies, they have only gotten more extreme and stronger in numbers. These people are not stupid goat herders, they're not trying to defeat us on the battlefield but rather an entire new type of war. If you listen to any of Osama Bin Laden's tapes from the 90s, he basically laid out everything they were going to do until now. Most of these extremists actually come from relatively well off families and are usually radicalized in college, so remember that when they told us how all these college students were protesting for "democracy" in XYZ country when if given the choice will elect radical Islamists.

Islamic extremists can try to convert people in Western countries but I think that is a pretty rare phenomenon and not something that needs to worried about. 90% of the risk can be mitigated very easily.

He means nuking the Middle East, regardless of how many innocent people would die in the process.

We say that torture doesn't work but they caught this Salah Abdeslam in Belgium on Friday with detonators in his apartments, he most definitely knew about the attacks that happened today in Brussels. That's the imaginary nightmare scenario, what do you do? This guy got to sit back and watch this happen and supposedly he was "cooperating". It's hard to have sympathy for these terrorists, it's hard not wanting a reprisal.

What was the point of defaming yourself by posting this?

ISIS has an army of about 50 thousand, and controls about 100 thousand square miles of eastern Syria, and Western Iraq.

That patch of land is not a "country". And ISIS imports its weapons from thousands of miles away. ISIS is not an industrial nation state with industrial assets like steel mills, and ball bearing plants, which can be targeted by strategic bombing. Its not a conventional enemy like Nazi Germany, Japan, or the old Soviet Union which had large assets like steel mills that you could in theory nuke to hurt their war effort. Though they do have oil that they export to buy weapons. But their oil export infrastructure is already being bombed.

If we drop a Hiroshima sized bomb on the region it will destroy an area the size of the area destroyed by the Hiroshima bomb. About three square miles. Do the math:50 thousand fighters controlling a 100k square miles they average one ISIS for every two square miles. So randomly dropping a Hiroshima bomb will kill about one, or two ISIS fighters.

But it will also kill the same number of civilians who died at Hiroshima: about 100 thousand. And these will be civilians who are currently living under the depraved heel of ISIS tyranny- people who hate ISIS even more than we do.

So you're proposing that we commit nuclear genocide against the very people who would be our most rabidly fervent allies against ISIS in order to do neglible damage to ISIS.

And in the process we will (A) set a bad precedent with the "first use" of a nuclear weapon, (B) turn the whole Muslim world against us because we inflicted nuclear genocide against muslims, and cause a million times more terrorism, and (C) Turn the WHOLE world against us as well.

And on balance it would do virtually nothing to injure ISIS.

So why are you proposing this?

We pretty much have an open border policy. That's why I said that the US isn't untouchable. Didn't you say that you didn't want a wall put up on the Mexican border? And if we want to keep an eye out for "suspicious" individuals then they say we're "targeting" and being "racist". Now what is it you all want (because you can't have it both ways) ?

The US doesn't have open borders, except in right wing propaganda, and has stringent screening of immigrants that actually puts Israel to Shame. Incidentally, most terrorism in America is committed much more often by home grown white supremacists rather than by immigrant Muslim extremists.

As a Belgian, could you please spread the hate and Islamophobia elsewhere, at least out of respect for the victims?

By doing this people are doing exactly what the terrorists want: stigmatising an entire population group which only leads to more fear and division amongst people.

And no I'm not muslim. Nor am I a radical liberal. Just rational. My reasoning is as follows: hate breeds hate and fear breeds fear. Conversations and understanding unite. IS is an enemy to all of us (excluding their members), regardless of nationality, religion or race. They kill without distinction.

Didn't an American president say that a house divided among itself cannot stand? And I think it was Eleanor Roosevelt who said "Pit race against race, religion against religion, prejudice against prejudice. Divide and conquer! We must not let that happen here."

To the people blaming the Shengen area or our response to the refugee crisis: this seems to imply these events are somehow our fault or that we asked for it and I find this blame game - also played by Trump - highly disrespectful and unfounded.

Let's not forget that extremists are everywhere: Catholic extremists shoot up abortion clinics, a white supremesist killed a lot of innocents in Norway, an atheist extremist killed his muslim neighbors, etc. There will always be bad people, in any political system, regardless of policy choices.

Just let us grieve, try to heal and figure out where to go from here without adding such insult to injury by blaming or spreading fear and hate.

Thank you.

Abraham Lincoln said, in a debate about 1858, that "A House Divided Cannot Stand."

I agree with what you wrote, MsV.
