I read that the reason she wasn't allowed in is that the school does background checks on guests over 20. Since they didn't know she was coming, they couldn't do the check. I also read that she has a couple of convictions, so maybe she purposely showed up unexpectedly to avoid the screening.
It really is sad for the boy, but it's his family's fault.

Hrm. This is why I always put on my skeptic glasses whenever I see a news story involving an autistic person. Usually in stories like these, there's another story that isn't being told. If the older sister had a criminal background (especially multiple offenses) that's certainly a valid reason to bar her from the event.

Stop it Fnord, you're making me blush...

Sounds like a play
Much ado about nothing

.. and things repeat
A. Things that don't match my rules are unfair
B. Teens date younger and older than their ages (which follows them as they get older)
C. Back ground checks apply
D. Dates outside if the sponsoring school need to be pre checked.
E. Some teens wait till last minute on things.
F. New tweaks things to get clicks as in the past to sell newspapers/ magazines.

Frankly, proms and formal dances are a waste of time and money, and are havens for Lucifer and his legions (at least in the church I grew up in). Mom and Dad made damn sure I was scheduled to work at the restaurant where I was employed in high school (since they both knew the manager, having gone to high school with her.) during the prom.

Do you mean that there is some other story here than "Autistic Teen Abused by Meanies for Being Autistic"? Say it ain't so!

 There is always more to the story than that!
