Actually, for women a gun is way down the list of preferred methods, so we're pretty much just talking about guys.

https://afsp.org/about-suicide/suicide-statistics/But, that second link also mentions that men are 3.5x more likely to successfully die from suicide & 50% of suicides use a gun. And those guys 7 out of 10 times are likely to be white.
So, were they gun owners before becoming suicidal or did they specifically get a gun to prepare for suicide?
It would make a difference in intervention, I would think?
