What good comes to an economy where the majority of workers are kept underfoot as a permanent underclass? With a wage hike, workers will be able to put more money into the economy by buying goods and services, spurring even more growth. Those business leaders who are dead set against raising the minimum wage are motivated primarily by greed involving short term goal of saving and making money in the here and now, rather than looking at the long term picture of investing in the economy by paying workers more.

Oregon could be one of the next states to have a minimum wage hike, which is as of July 1st, 2016 is $9.75/hour, but next summer the minimum wage will be $11.25/hour.
