I actually think that everything will be fine despite Trump. I leave it to those more powerful than I to keep him in check and I have hope. What we are seeing now with the rioting is not helpful. I don't want a revolution. I just want to go about my business as usual.

You so sure about that? It's becoming apparent that Trump's method of government is going to be taking a laid back approach and setting the general vision without going into much detail, appointing a bunch of ambitious, competitive people under him who will have overlapping authority while demanding absolute loyalty from each and every one of them, and leaving it to them to come up with specific policy proposals and actions that will please him as they attempt to curry favor.

I already don't like this.

He's in way over his head. He has to let those knuckleheads have free reign, but his narcissism isn't going to just vanish overnight. It's not pleasant, but I can't say I'm surprised.

Every time a white person begins a post or article with "dear white people", 10 new Trump voters are created.

^^ I AGREE!!

The more people are singled-out, the more they'll fight-back----just look at the way we ASDers will stand-up for ourselves, cuz we're sick-and-tired of being made to look like "the bad guy" (or, "the damaged guy", or whatever).

So how would you propose solving this so-called "diversity" problem? Nearly 40% of the country is people of color per latest census estimates. What would you have done with them?

Due process and equal protection of the laws. That is what should be "done with" everyone....

I was conveying the message in the first article linked in the OP. Did you read it?

Exactly. So when, for example, you try to force a judge off your case because of his heritage, people are going to take note, and if you also become President-elect of the United States, people are going to make sure they still keep their right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. That's a big part of why you've seen all these protests over the past week and a half. A lot of people of color don't feel safe. What are we going to do so they can feel safe again?

The election result is a set back for deep thinkers; although it does present a puzzle in it's own right.

Trump is basically whatever you want him to be. At heart he's a pragmatist who likes power. I worry about the power given to republican values such as anti-women's autonomy, not valuing black people, and trickle-down economics.

The biggest problem I have with Trump is not his casual bragging of abuse of women or his vindictiveness, but rather, his complete inability to speak in coherent sentences.

I am however pleased to see this recurring image:

"Not valuing black people" is NOT a Republican value! No Republican I know actually thinks less of black people. Not liking Black Lives Matter because of the riots is not the same as thinking black lives don't matter.

I'm going to go out on a limb and venture that the American Republican party is one made up of the values of white men. I know there are black and female republicans, but their values are that of white men.

By "values of white men" I mean those that have traditionally worked in their favour with regard to preserving their vision of ideal civilization.

The problem is that their ideal does not completely mesh with the ideals of the black and female population. I believe both groups hold distinct values from each other (of course they have a lot in common too.) But to keep things peaceful, I think the new American government should be mindful that their's is not the only vision of the future.

American blacks have a far different story than American whites and their viewpoints differ. Women value things, I don't think men understand (that's just my experience, though.)

Anyway, my point is that white men need to be less sure about their vision of a perfect society and more open to the values of other cultural experiences.

I'm guessing that's a Secret Service agent, because of the little thing he's wearing on his suit to (his) left of his tie. There's something a little disturbing about that because it kinda looks like a merger of the U.S. government and Trump's company.

I know, eh? I know it's a little nutty, but I honestly wonder if he intends to somehow work it so he stays in power longer than 4/8 years. I think he has a dictatorial mind and he has a huge personality cult following. He scares me.
